Welcome!

I had another journal, but soil blows.

Anyways, this is a 'Heath Robinson' inspired design. Instead of using soil pipe or rigid pvc pipe I went with the corrugated pipe. It works great. It's rigid enough to support a plant, so I'm happy. Plus, the stuff bends super easy and was only $35 for 50'.

Right now I've got 3 and a half levels to this system. I'm hoping I'll be able to run Lucas formula until I run out of GH nutrients, so I can run a perpetual for now.

The first top two rows are Pizzurp, it's a purple bagseed that I came upon. I'll throw a picture in at the end. I've grown it before and I'm growing it now, and I like it. The lowest row is another row of Chemdog. Once my seedlings become mothers, I'll have Eva Jamaican Dream, CH9 Jack, and CH9 Cluster. I've got a bunch of others I'll run in the future too.

For the pictures! I'll probably do video eventually too.

hey i was in middle of posting and suddenly ur thread was deleted, lol, anyway great set up! I'm subbed to watch this one, question, how are you getting water to the hydrotn? Or are the clones have long roots already?

The water level hits the bottoms of the cups. Plus, I put the stems of the clones through the bottom of the cup and made sure they all hit water. I'm rooting the clones in the system. Later on in the process I'll have a cloner setup so I can be pumping rooted clones into the system.

I think I'll be running the system at a constant Lucas formula, but I'm unsure. I know for a fact that my ChemDog isn't a fan of the Lucas formula. I really want to try different nutrients. General hydroponics just doesn't seem like it's doing super great. I'll have to see what my hydro store has and go from there.

Oh yeah, the CFL doesn't spin. That's completely temporary. I've got my grow going on in the basement and in the attic. This weekend I'm going to move everything downstairs so I can get it out of my room. By then the clones will be rooted, and I can throw my HPS or MH in for a week of veg. I'm planning on flowering with 1 week veg or 4-6 inch clones I think. The pizzurp is a stretchy ass plant. I've got one that at least tripled and close to quadrupled it's size in a 1 gallon pot of coco.

Anyways, I'll probably update this weekend since there will be actually something to look at lol.

None of the clones have rooted, but they are all looking pretty good. I'm moving all the grow down there today, so I'll have more pictures I suppose later.

I love working in the basement, I don't have to worry about temperatures at all.

No roots yet though. I'm thinking the res temp at 68.5 is a little low for rooting clones. I figure it'll just take a while longer.

I just ran out of my last Chemdog, but I've got some done in 18 days!

Pretty good, I've kind of relocated to Roll it up though. I'm getting roots now, so I'll do an update in a few days when they actually start growing!

nice! Everything is taking off in your hydro setup
can I make a suggestion? suspend that 400w bulb up higher so you have more light coverage pouring down onto the leaves

Sticky, that was only temporary. That's why it was so afro-engineered.

great looking setup!...I'm a big fan of heath's grows. Have you considered covering everything in reflectix..or putting up some sort of curtain to keep all the light in?

Definitely get that light straightened out...a few well placed zipties might help...otherwise they have those hanging mogul sockets with the hook on em you can attach to.

Looking forward to how this turns out...thanks for the update.

I haven't really thought there'd be a huge benefit in using reflectix. I have other things that I should invest in first.

The plants? Growing with a bulb beside the plants makes them grow kind of weird. I'll take pictures of my veg tomorrow or something.

This strain is super duper stretchy also. The lower level has plants that are 18'' tall. I'm hoping the hydro will grow some good stuff. The yield is low, but the appearance and experience is worth it. I've trimmed these ones back pretty heavily and 'lollipopped' them. The one I grew out in coco, which is what the pictures of the bud are from, had a lot of side growth that has grown decent nugs, but the branches can't support them. I've been tying them to the main stalk to keep them up. With the trimming I'm hoping to have a more solid single cola.

I'm pretty toasted off this Chemdog. Yield is for the birds, but quality is an A+.
