First I would like to thank all the GC people for being a great community coming together to help out one another. I have learned more on here than anywhere else! Now on to the details of my grow. I germinated 2 feminized seeds of Acapulco Gold. Planted them April 10th when they showed taproot. Then sprouted the next day. I am using Fox Farms Ocean Forest soil mixed with Miracle Grow Organic Choice garden soil in cups. I decided to germinate 4 more feminized seeds of Acapulco Gold a couple of days later. For a total of 6 plants. Anyhow here are some pics. I got 3 CFL lights (6500k) on them 18/6. I bought 3 gallon containers to put them in when I decide to transplant them outside. My question is how long till I can take them outside. I wanna grow them in my backyard. I haven't decided if I want to grow them in the 3 gal containers or straight in the soil of my backyard (using the Fox Farm Ocean Forest and MG Organic Choice soil and adding some perlite) what do you all recommend? Any other advice and tips are greatly appreciated. The nutes I bought are Pureblend Pro Grow, Cal-Mag and some Superthrive... Thank you all once again. Excited about my first grow!

Here is a pic a few days later. I'm debating whether to transplant them now to 3 gallon containers or wait a little longer...

The fox farms soil is good stuff. I've used it before. But only indoors. I'm growing outside this year and I used Kellogg's patio plus. It's all organic and the plants seem to love it. Also it is half the price of fix farms.

Thanks for replying. I've got plenty of soil to play around with so I might just use all of my Fox Farms. But I will consider buying the one you mentioned in the future. Are you growing on the ground? Or in gallon pots? I'm debating whether to plant straight to ground, or in 3 gallon pots...

3 gallon pots aren't big enough at all man, you're better off going in the ground if you wanna yield a decent amount come harvest time brotha.

Thanks jamesonc!! I appreciate the advice. I'm gonna plant straight to the ground and see how this one big female does... Just kinda doubting if I should today, since where I live we have a forecast of showers tomorrow and the next day after...

Hey. Man just read your post. Yeah I have mine in the ground. I waited until they had enough growth on them to fend for themselves. But instead of just planting into the dirt I dug a hole about the size of a twenty gallon pot and then backfilled it with my potting soil. When u do t this way you don't make your plants work too hard by pushing through hard packed dirt, it gets all of the nutrients it need from the soil, an it has great drainage like a potted plant. It's my first time doing outdoor an my plants are looking fuckin great. I started early and they are already a foot tall and bushy. The tallest one is about a foot and a half and they have all already been topped. They should be fuckin massive by the time it's time to harvest! Come check my grow journal out man. It will probably give you some good ideas

A storm just blew through here. Rained hard for about 15 minutes. Last time like two weeks ago this happened and I had to put laundry baskets over the top of the girls. This time they are big enough to tough it out and absorb some of the rain. I hope they like it! Hope the praying mantis cacoons didn't get too wet though. I'm counting on those little suckers

You the man with those strong healthy looking plants bro. Praying mantis kills what off the plants? Heard about those being used...

Just curious, why stake down MJ? And for how long if I'm planting outdoors in the ground?

If u tie the top down to the ground when they are young all if the inside branched come alive cause it thinks it doesn't have a main top so it compensates. Then you have a bush instead of a Xmas tree
