    EDIT:FIXED LINKS
This is my guide to all you other beginners out there who dont have time to do the over year of research ive done on the indoor growing of marijuana using cfl lighting. Please post if you feel anything needs to be added. Alot of stuff will be on amazon simply for the convience of being to make one big order and save on shipping

CFL lighting is often used by beginner growers because they are easy accesible as well as the fact that they do not require a ballast or other expensive equipment to utilize them. Although this guide is directed towards the use of CFL lighting it will cover all parts of cultivating marijuana.

There are 6 things that you need to cultivate marijuana with optimal results.
    Lighting
    A Growing Medium
    Nutrients
    Ventilation
    Odor control
    Seeds

    Lets start with Lighting
Lighting: CFL lighting is very easy to obtain, cheap, and does not expensive equipment to utilize. Now This guide will be directed to people looking to grow 1-2 plants. As a general rule you need 100 watts for your first plant and 50 for every after that... so for a micro grow 150 watts is perfect! These run you about 50$-70$ a piece, if you want optimal results it is best to buy two one with 5000k-6500k for veg and one 2700k for flowering, this is not nessecary.

For veg use one of these: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...Energy...&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13350430287323-at 54$ its a great deal!

For flowering i use: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...anty | 10...&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13350430699534 at 76$ they are pricey but its you will notice the difference, its worth the investment

Lastly adapters so you can ust plug these into a powerstrip: Amazon.com: Leviton Ivory Plug-in Light Socket Outlet Adapter Plug: Home Improvement at 1.70 a piece these are awsome!

Next a growing medium, this is important, dont go cheap for this as it will waste alot of potential that you plant could have. I highly recommed foxfarms for soil and nutes.

This is what i have seen work the best, at 40$
It is a bit pricey but again well worth the investment

Nutrients, although most soils especially the one listed above have nutrients in them, supplementing nutrients really helps yield more and grow healthier plants. Typically using two types of nutrients is best one for flowering and one for veg (this is because plants need different nutrients to grow different elements of their organism). For vegging you want an all around nutrient with a npk of fairly equal values for example npk ratio :1,1,1 works fine! but for flowering you want a more varying npk ratio like 1,3,2

for veg i use foxfarm grow big Amazon.com:http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...& Garden&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13350431068436

and for flowering i use foxfarm tiger Bloom: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...=pd_sim_lg_3&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_13350431307837 at 15 $ its the perfect price. fox farm big bloom works just as well but is a little more expensive.

Onto ventilation! Ventilation is important for your plants to maintain temperature as well as to prevent stale air, but if your going stealth ventilation is even more important. Idealy you want atleast 2 fans one bringing air in and 1 pushing air out. I like to use computer fans for micro-grows 2 bringing air in and 2 pushing out. Any fan works you just want to make sure it is strong enough to cycle all the air in your grow room in less than a minute. I recommend these.

Odor control, can be the most important part of a grow, because depending on your scenario, being caught may mean the death of your plants! For microgrows i simply use ONA blocks... to be honest they work like magic, and are only around 10 bucks a piece. Now there are two other main options, ionizers and carbon filters, but i am not going to go into those as they are the least convient for a micro grow.. and pretty overkill.

http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...amp; Garden&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_133504319566710 two of these should do the trick for upto 4 plants, even at their dankiest moments. They need to be replaced monthly so i reccomend using one at a time

Seeds, Nothing can happen without seeds, I like to use autoflowering seeds for microgrows, i can recomend 3 strains.

Auto northern lights- nice smoke, 60 days to completion, low odor.
    http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...nabis Seeds&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_133504321428611
with this strain id put the first ONA block in at 10 days.

Auto mazar- nice smoke, huge yield for an auto flower, 90 days to completion
    http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...nabis Seeds&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_133504323196313
id start the ONA BLOCK at 20 days on these.

Red dwarf- low yield, super tiny, advertised at 60 days to completion but ive seen them harvested at 45 days.
    http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...nabis Seeds&jsonp=vglnk_jsonp_133504328742714
with this strain id put the first ONA block in at 10 days.

Im not going to go into depth, but if you need a place for your grow, i recommed card board boxes lined in mylar or rubber maids lined in mylar.

  3. I've never used autoflowering seeds but based on your ONA block recommendations it sounds like they get smelly pretty quick.

I'm using 6, 26 watt CFL (6500K) lights per plant but based on the links it looks like I could have saved some cash - me and my impatience. Plants look good for now, however, but maybe i'll change things up next time.

    Thanks for the info!

  4. :) its based for budget growers like myself... and the quicker autoflowers take about 60 days to finish... and since im in a scenario i just like to be cautious ( at 10 days they only smell if you go up and sniff them and its only a little bit) i just use one from day 10 till 40 and then that second from 40 till harvest.

  5. Hey noobtoke, how would you use a Rubbermaid?
like how exactly would that work?
im in the process of a micro grow, maybe a rubbermaid system would be better than what i have now...
    just curious :smoke:

  6. hahah... well it depends do you have a flower and a veg room or just one room for both, and how many plants do you have?

i have 3 seedling right now...room isnt such an issue.
i have multiple rubbermaid containers laying around...if you want, go check out me grow so far... Pictures by ThatGuyJordan - Photobucket
that was about a weeek ago, they havent made a whole lot of progres yet

**EDIT** i have 3 of those CFL's in there now, one over top of each plant

  8. haah well um, i would just get a giant rubber maid, put your plants in bigger pots, (transplant around day 20) and put the bigger pots inside the rubber maid... then drill holes into the top for the lights... drill out a square in the side for your fans, if your going for stealth make sure to line the inside of the rubbermaid with cardboard before you line it with maylar or else it will glow like a fuckin xmas tree.. pretty simple..

  9. yea yea, i get all that, but...will i be able to grow decent sized plants in a rubbermaid?

im not too sure what to expect, ive tried growing before but this time im dedicated and serious about it.

  10. well given its a micro grow i take it you chose a small strain... (the tallest any of the dwarfs get is 20 inches) and if you LST you can def get a good yield... but always keep in mind micro grow NEVER yield as much as a normal grow so dont be bummed when your not getting like ounces and onces per plant.... if you choose a good small high yield autoflower you could get 100 grams a plant in a rubber maid...
(if your looking strains i reccomend auto mazar as a first choice... green o matic as a second.

  11. ohhhh, ok. as of right now im using bag seed from some good shit i had a while back...any recomendations for training the plants? fim, scrog, supercropping, lst?
and should i do all 3 plants in the rubbermaid or should i go with one bigger bushier plant in it?

  12. .... hm id go with 1 bushy one or 2 smaller ones.. def not all three.... personally i think a combination of LST and supercropping is best

  13. ok, thanks for the help, ill deff be updating my log and making this rubbermaid grow box
    Keep on tokin man :bongin:

  14. haha yea man! Blaze UP! imnotsure if i said so already but
