It iappears to be a chunk of juniper with gall fungus that is fruiting! The gall fungi make all sorts of weird forms-

Lol speaking of weird fungus, check out one called Elegant Stinkhorn.
I had a large patch of them growing in my yard last summer in an area that regularly has odd mushrooms growing wildly. I was sure for a while that they were alien hahaha till i figured out what they were after a little research.

We had a stinkhorns in our garden... the things were freaky.

haha thats some trippy shit man, i've come across some weird looking plants on my high nature walks as well. always wondered if theres other plants out there that can effect of psychologically if smoked

you know how many forms of fungi are seeked (not a fucking word lol) out to be eaten? For medicine and food.....

I know that, but edible mushrooms and fungi (or otherwise useable ones) are a small minority… the 90% figure I pulled out of my ass, but the large majority of them are either toxic or mildly poisonous.
I can find sources… hang on

upon further investigating the "vast majority" figures I was taught referred only to North American native species…
Worldwide it's something like 30%...

Fungus is fuckin cool....theres a bunch that even glow in the dark...
when I was watching that new movie chimpanzee I was entranced by some of the awesome shots they got of the glowing fungus at night
