Hi Guys,

I have a 4ft tent. A 90W LED red/blue spectrum light.

Plants go well for the first 2 weeks. Organic soil with some perlite.

After 2 weeks, leaves start going brown from the very end of leaf, and creep in fast to kill plant.

What could be the issue here?

Light hangs, prolly 1 foot, so LED is probably sitting around 2.8 foot from the plant. No nutrients are being used as its to early.

From what I have read the distance of light shouldn't be an issue, as barely any heat is present. Not sure what is causing this problem. With the same soil they go fine outdoors.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thanks
Luke

I'm sure one of the first things you will hear is that the 90 is not enough alone; add more light. I would guess that your browning is probably a watering issue; what size pots, watering schedule, and ventilation are the relevant variables. Intuition can be the best guide; search the force, young padawan.

a 90w LED is about the bare minimum, try adding a few CFL light bulbs to add a little more light to your grow area. I'm not saying you are wrong, but from what I have read LED lights should be a maximum of 12 inches from the top of a plant, and most people put them a little closer than that. The closer the light is the better the light penetration is. My best wishes to you and your plant.

Hi Guys,

Thanks, I think Ventilation may be the issue, will put the light closer, however no fan was in the tent, i just had some flaps open. But perhaps it requires more air flow around the plant.

Will give it a shot, thanks for tips.

Regards
Luke
