They shouldn't be able to use anything without a warrant, so it does them no good. And that seems like a giant lawsuit waiting to happen
This. They may have that info, but if they tried to use it in court, it would be worthless unless they obtained it with a warrant.

I was thinking that it's pretty dumb to have grow pictures on your cellphone, but its probly even more dumb to admit to interstate drug trafficking on a message board where ip addresses can easily be traced, for the purpose of trying to impress strangers.
There's a huge difference between a picture of a growing marijuana plant on your cell phone and discussing drug trafficking online.
I'm sure there are tons of talks about killing Jews, Blacks, Hispanics, and Whites on the internet, but that doesn't mean it's happening.
A photograph of a marijuana plant on your phone means that it's happening somewhere.
But... you're dumb, and it's perfectly normal.

believe me you are paying the price for all this wonderful technology at the tip of your fingers. they make smartphone so awesome that everyone will have one in their pocket with a camera, microphone and GPS on it.
I'm pretty sure its unheard of to buy a phone without all of this things.

They don't wirelessly grab your data. They have to actually get your phone and plug it into the device:

This.
Think about it guys... Anyone here ever root an android device? Ever back up your phone? How long did that take? How fast can you transfer the 16 or so gigs of data on my phone to look through it? I have a few gigs of pictures alone so even if they limit what info they are looking through to my pictures... Hope they have the 10 minutes or so it takes to transfer.
And they physically need your phone. Did anyone here need to be told if you have info on your grow on your phone, and the police get your phone they might find out that info?
Did anyone not know that you can plug a storage device into a computer and make a back up copy?
