NORML results, what delivers most THC with personal experiment results

  1. Hey everybody I know there are a thousand of these threads but I'd like to post MY findings as to the "Highest per hit" question. Like many, when I want to get into space I grab a Bong and pack it full of my best sticky. But is that the best option?

While certinly one of my favorites, I noticed when I'm running low, my chillum gets me so much higher than a simmaler sized Bong hit. Now most seasoned Tokers (myself not yet having earned that title, although working diligently at it :smoke: ) will say water doesn't filter out the THC just the garbage from the hit. I think I can safely agree with them, and here is why. When I'm feeling fancy, and want to catch a real good buzz (dont know why it just never gets me "Stoned") I break out my Sherlock bub. I seem to get a good bit higher on each hit than say with my full sized bong, which is about a foot and a half tall.

Here is where the NORML Results come in. Sadly the internet at my school is terrible, and it would take forever for me to access that website im sure a quick google search for most people would bring it up no problem (please feel free to insert a link in a comment.) While they were using the schwagiest of schwag for their tests, I think they brought up a valid point. when smoked, THC sticks to the sides of pieces, and potency is lost. it stands to reason that the more surface area of a piece that the smoke touches, the more THC is lost; meaning that on my Bong, I still have at least one solid hit of good stuff stuck throughout the whole thing. My Chillum, being a only like 3 inches long, has much, much less THC loss due to sticking to the sides. the NORML Results suggested that a regular, unflitered joint delivers the best hit, however I think that has alot to do with the fact that the bud was so low quality and more than likely rolled in a profesional rolling machine. A normal joint would have significant loss due to side stream smoke, but all the THC that passes through the paper winds up getting inhaled, so there really is no loss per surface area.
I suppose the reason bongs get one so high is the fact that we tend to take much bigger hits, but as far as conservency goes it just might not be the best thing.

I conducted my own cheap little study. I made a varity of home made pieces (to get around the biased of which was my favorite) which included a bong, 2 chillums, and rolled a J. Being like an avarage of half a gram a day smoker for the past few months, with no significant diviation from that in the past week or so, I tested one a day, with half a gram each and recorded my findings. The bong was suprisingly dissapointing, being the first one I tested, I nearly cleared the bowl with one hit, followed by a fairly week hit to finish it off. It came on strong, but didnt last particularly long, never really peaked just kind of tapered off and overall wasnt that great.
This is where it gets interesting. The first Chillum I made was about 5 inches long, and yielded simmalar results, although it took me about 3 and a half hits to finish. While initally not as high as the bong hit, it lasted a bit longer, peaked and then tapered to a mild buzz for a short time. The next day, I smoked the shorter chillum, this time a little shorter than 2 inches, and I was Off. Very. very suprised at the difference, after all it was all the same Bud, made sure none had any stems or anything all portions had seemed identical. With about 4 solid hits (it was so short the smoke was quite hot, not able to hold as much) I was initially just as high as the Bong, and it kept going until a peak a while later followed by a real nice buzz that lasted for a fairly long time. Quite suprised, but pleased my theory was seemed to be proving I was right, I looked foward to my joint the next day, wondering if I might have been wrong about it. Really took my time, and rolled a really nice J (Ive never really been that great at rolling always been a pipe guy). The effects however were somewhat dissapointing, it got me a little less high then the longer chillum, but still suprisingly better than the Bong.

    Conclusion,
The shorter the piece it seems, the better the hits.

Anybody else find this, or find any errors in my experiment

  2. Agreed, you can't beat a one-hitter when it comes to efficiency

  3. I ALWAYS Have one on me haha dont always carry bud but for some reason I got one in my laptop bag, one in the pocket of 2 different jackets, one at home and one in my desk here at school. a buzz helps me study quite a bit, and just one or two of those and I can work quite effectively for awhile. Its just annoying to get high off though, packing it again and again. and they clog easily, if I dont scrape the resin after 2 or 3 packs I cant anything out of it :/
