I would like a few opinions about my latest hare-brained notion; bowing to the reality that I have less than the best lighting, I've decided to just lay the 24 inch grows on the edge of the pots. Now the scrubs that haven't reached the screen are getting a little more attention. I am curious though if the light coming from below is somehow confusing to the bigger plants:confused:

It might be a little confusing for them...but not in a damaging way. ...Like you might see leaves on the same plant facing 2 different directions (different light sources) ..but it's no big deal. The plant will optimize itself and turn towards the brightest light source.

more light = more bud, as long as it's not F'ing with temps. :) I can't tell from the pic, but if those have those plastic covers over the lights, pop em off.

The most obvious things escape me at times, thank you.

Another compulsive trip to Lowes and now my growroom is sporting a whopping total of twenty three 23 watt/ 100 watt equiv CFLs floating around my centered 90 watt UFO LED blasting the canopy from above along with the four 75 watt grow tubes resting on the rim of the pots giving a much needed mani-pedi to my lovely ladies down below. Time to start rearranging to make room for the starter shelf for the next crop.

Wally world for the grow tubes/ Lowes for the CFLs and clamp lights/ LED online somewhere; total investment = roughly $500 with dirt, pots, extension cords and such included. My goal is self sufficiency with enough to supply my daughter as well/ She's 22 but rents so she can't grow on her own. With the space I have available, from what I've seen accomplished here I should be able to pull pounds and pounds outta there but I've never given it a serious effort up till now and given the admission of this thread, I'll be delighted with whatever I get and hope I can follow instructions about the dry and cure process.

a quick fly over to try to show the lights and mounts; cage at the doorway is to prevent Stingray from eating everything in sight.

:confused:I realize that, wasn't trying to fudge my numbers; thanks for clarifying. All CFLs are listed as 23 = 100 @ 1600 lumens; it gets really confusing trying to equate what I'm working with to traditional tried and true MH or HPS systems. Fingers crossed here.:D

That's fine, but most people go by actual watts around here. Saying you have 2300 watts of CFL in your grow room can be misleading to some. :)

:D Again the clarification helps explain, both for me and others. If you don't mind offering your suggestions on lighting placement, I have an open mind and can place them just about anywhere. :smoke:

Hooray! My daughter came by today with her bomb-ass cell phone; check out the what the sugar plum fairy left on my buds. I'm hoping for another 6 to 8 weeks.

Very frosty!!! Can't wait to see them finish, you must be proud!!! :D

Do you have a pet or something? Thought I saw webbing on your bud, but I think it's just hair. I'm just cautious about mites, they can ruin a lot of hard work.

I have pets too, my labs shed like crazy but they're not allowed near my grow because they can carry mites, especially if they've been chasing animals through the brush.

...just a thought :o

Stingray Jones, my former assistant guard kitty. He's indoor only and I just have to cross my fingers about other critters.
He can do enough damage all on his own though.
