Why is there no Zong appreciation thread?

Discussion in 'Bongs, Dab Rigs, Bubblers, Water Pipes' started by KouchLoch, Apr 3, 2012.

  1. The title says it all. I've seen lots of threads, but no specific zong appreciation. Does anyone else love these pieces like I do? I have two and working on a third right now (have to order it). Anyways, if you have one, post up a pic, I love seeing all the twists and kinks. For those of you that DO have zongs, are you sure it's a real zong?

  2. Is Zong a brand name? I thought it refered to just the style. Most of the bongs I've seen with z kinks in the tube have rubber gommets. I don't think a non glass on glass thread would stay afloat very long.

  3. I think because they lost their popularity a few years ago. I like the style, but nothing I would buy without money to blow. :smoke:

  4. I'm pretty sure these aren't real.

  5. I have two that are, and I'm considering a third. I absolutely LOVE my zongs!

    :bongin:

  6. I used to have a legit one about two years ago but some bitch broke it..sad day. I do miss the way it looked though!

  7. Not all Zongs are rubber grommets. I believe those are knockoffs.

I had a Zong glass on glass with Inline a couple of years ago and my mom was using it and knocked it off her night stand one day. Not too sad, I didn't really miss it.

I heard they went out of business for a while so the only thing left was old stuff and knockoffs. I think thats when/why they lost their popularity before coming back.

Zong was big when my sister was smoking in high school like in 2001.

  8. Oh wow man I never thought I would see this thread.
me and my buddy chase in highschool bought a sour 6 kink zong (like three feet tall)
had a 14mm grommet fitting, and was pretty fucking impossible to milk entirely.

EDIT: RIP tyrone (the zong) it was taken by his crazy not-quite-clean AA mom haha

  9. How about we get a few posts here with any true GonG zongs in this thread? I'll post pics of mine when I get the chance.

I had a zong … my dog broke it. It was great while it lasted though and it was straight with no kinks in it.

    Edit:

  11. Nice piece and a good start (too bad it's broken :() I still haven't had the chance to upload my own pics. I'll get to it!

    :bongin:

  12. Cause they take a minute to clear.

  13. Didnt realize the original company still made zongs. Everything ive seen the last five years is a knockoff.

  14. they were but i'm pretty sure the Zong company dissolved a few year ago.

my first tube was made by the Zong company but wasn't Zong styled, it was just a straight tube. shit was weird.

  15. it was this bong but glass on rubber and had a bigger base, bought it in 10th grade so i'm pretty sure that it wasn't a knock off.

  16. Zongs are still made by Blue Dot out of Phoenix. There are a lot of rare ones still out there. I have my third one on order. :D

  17. My roommate had one when I was in college and I was not a fan. Way too much drag and tough as fuck to completely clear.

This awesome piece isn't mine unfortunatly. My buddy Vince is the proud owner of this beut. I cant find the legit name for this thing or find it on the internet, if anyone knows let me know

Sorry for the sideways pics, they's from my phone

  19. The only bong I've ever owned was a zong and it had two Z's in it. They weren't parallel though. It was a tough piece and easy to hold on too. Great rips, great flavor. I named it zeus and it is now in an evidence room/locker on hickam air force base.... :(

This is the only picture I have of it.
