Would you put stuff in your bong water to make it better?

We've used different kinds of wine, the occasional fresh passion fruit juice, and for get togethers around the holidays, I'll sometimes have a little fun and do the below.









I'll often do this when we make Green or (Hash) Golden Dragon, Jello Shots & Desserts;













If you have a good glass bong, it's just as easy as rinsing and cleaning any glass in your house. I'd avoid artificial or excessive colorings if you own plastic bongs.

That's some really badass stuff

I used Mountain Dew to make it better. Not exactly glow 'n the dark, but it makes smoking out of it taste awesome.

 

im gonna try doctor pepper cause i had a empty dp bottle and didnt rinse it out just put bong water in and it tasted kinda like dp. i wonder... lol seems awesome, but im getting a real bong instead of the homemade ones.

It works rather well. Just as well as water, in fact. That's what I conclude from my experience. And soda is indeed harmful to the human condition. It's okay if it's not consumed daily and only on occasion.

I tend to disregard the latter, however.

Just so we're on the same page, I didn't use a mountain dew bottle full of the stuff. I just put a bit of it in my buddy's bong. Same high, just tasted kinda like soda.

 

I got suckered into buying some bong water flavoring by a guy I know at my LHS like 4-5 months ago. I've only used it twice but it legitimately smells good enough to drink. I bought the green stuff on the left and it definitely adds an apple kiwi flavor to your rips. Not really my taste but it was fun to try a couple times. If you really want to add flavor to your bong tokes, I would recommend trying the stuff out.

 

I tried the tonic idea a while back after researching about Halloween jello shots. I got a couple of pics too. Also why wine? If THC can pass through water because it isn't water soluble, but is soluble in alcohol.... And wine is 15-25% alcohol/4 ounces......

Anyway. The only thing I put in my bong is diffuser beads (pic 3). It's dirty because I took the pic for educational reasons forever ago.

We take the 'risk' for the same reason some people choose to make 'gourmedibles' using traditional ingredients and oil sources, instead of 'medibles' with the most efficient oil sources, although in this case it's much less likely to adversely effect the smoke to such a degree, with such a low alcohol content, and where the smoke itself makes less than an instant of incomplete-contact with the water..


Consider that you need to totally submerge the herb for a few, to ten or fifteen seconds in 91% to 'PURE' ethyl or iso alcohol, to perform only a partial extraction...

It's why you can't brew Dragon using wine, you can't brew/ferment home made cannabis wine with even activated flowers and expect it to have any effect, and you can't very easily make Dragon even when using your average 40% liquor, it takes weeks to effectively strip the glandular material with so much water contamination, and months for it to become fully bioavailable.



You could easily lab test the bong water, against the wine-bong-water to see how much or what the potential is for loss.

It would just take sending a few ml.s each of the liquid from several sessions using water, and wine of varying percentages, to create an average. I haven't done so myself, but I also haven't felt the need, where the potential for loss only just barely as negligible with that little alcohol diluted in water, as the amount you lose in pure water, versus a dry pipe.


And if anyone is really concerned or worried about losing a fraction potency, they should be vaping, using a dry pipe with a wick, or eating edibles anyhow. You already destroy 50% or more when combusting depending on the heat exposure, and up to 15% - 30% when vaping, also varying on the temperatures used.

It's why low-temp liquid chromatography provides more accurate and higher results, often as much as 30% higher, when performing potency analysis, over GC/Gas Chromatography where heat-induced vapors must be formed in order to perform the test.
You don't even get to benefit from the byproducts of degradation from that percent, it's destroyed entirely; the degraded byproducts contained in your smoke, are produced by your remaining cannabinoids.



The fraction, of a fraction of a percent that wine 'may' cost you when using it only every once, in a blue moon, is minimal especially in comparison to what your smoking & vaping methods are regularly costing you.

Yeah actually that makes a lot of sense. I hope you don't think I was bashing btw, I was just curious. But the thought of green dragon taking weeks as opposed to a near instant rip did clear it up. I was actually considering QWISO and a quick wash. But again that was initially.

And the medibles/edibles as well. I had 4 grams of kief saved up so I could make your hash capsules and I had to start using it because I ran out of bud 2 days ago!!

I've been trying to convince my girlfriend for months to let me save it up after we got our kief box.

 

Not at all I tend to go overboard explaining things, and get a bit wordy and on the techie-side, no harm meant by it, just trying to cover all the bases.

That other thread just had me aggressive where I know so many great, lovely folks who just can't buy, or can't even trust themselves to hold quality glass, because they have fixed incomes AND crippling ailments, illnesses or conditions, ranging from epilepsy, to Parkinson's and others.
Some people have to smoke over a mat and on wooden floors, with metal pipes, because they can't even hold glass and they drop their metal pipes almost every time they hold them for more than a minute or two... they don't want to spend hundreds, or even just dozens of dollars on something they're self-conscious about, or they feel they may break at any second.

Anyhoo, good luck on saving up the kief! When I'm running low on buds and I'm working my way down to the second shelf jars, it gets tough for me to save the good kief for very long, too.

 

I like the idea of using wine, I may have to do a study

 

I've put some cough drops in my bong before. It's different, but I don't think it's worth the extra effort that's required to clean that shit out.

I stick with water or watered-down orange juice, generally.
