True test of ice water extract is the close up melt shot. You can tell a lot about the grow from the amount of char. You can tell a lot about the extraction by the bubbling. Also, any sizzle is no bueno. Wet ice water extracts melt amazingly, but the also sizzle.

Yes. The flavor is much better if you just vape the best part and leave the char. The amount of char has to do with the grow. The organic ice water extracts always leave less char than the chemy. ie this sour diesel was grown indoor with H&G. It makes pretty extract, but leaves a good amount of black char.

Hmm. better is in the eye of the beholder.
In reality, ice water wins for flavor, and solvents win for potency.

I'm in socal and I've tried Matt Rize's ice wax a few times, and believe me, delicious is underselling it.

At a certain point in my life I realized that not everyone dabs just to get high. There are groups of people out there who dab for taste, the potency being secondary. And in that effort, ice water is the way to go.
