Kush? Haze?

Discussion in 'Apprentice Marijuana Consumption' started by Valcurium, Mar 4, 2012.

  1. Ok, so I've been researching all of these different strains and I guess my main question is this: Are there any pre-requisites or any thing that defines a strain as kush or haze? The only reason I ask is because I know a ton of people at my college who refer to all weed as "kush", and I was under the impression that weed with "kush" in the title has some characteristics or something that makes it different from other non-kushes. Same goes for haze strains. Am I correct in thinking this or do people just call their weed kush to make people think its good? haha

  2. Your correct, kush/ haze / purp strains are called that because they have genetics of such. However purple colors can be obtained threw colder temps than actually genetics

  3. Kush is usually an Indica dominant strain that originated from the Hindu KUSH mountains of Afghanistan and Pakistan. It gained notoriety from the California Medical scene for its medicinal properties. OG or Ocean Grown Kush is probably the most famous of them all.

Haze on the other hand is generally used to describe a Sativa dominant strain. Usually from places around the equator.

  4. This is true, however "purp" is mostly a characterisitic of an Indica pheno.

Indeed, because purple is generally caused by colder temps, and lots of indica strains originate in mountains, where it can get colder. And became more or less naturally purple through centuries of new generations hahahaha

As for people who call all weed kush though, really gets on my nerves hahahah

  6. Most Kush I've had smells straight up like lemons..but not all Kush i've had has smelled like this its just a good way to guess.

You will never know 100% what you're smoking though unless you're the one growing it yourself. Most people just throw Kush as the name to try and sell it faster since it's so popular.

  7. yeah, nothing gets on my nerves more than people who dont know what theyre talking about, thinking they know everything.
