Hey GC:wave:
Its been a little bit since my first grow and harvest, but here I am again, ready to grow round 2:D. For my second grow I am going to used the same set up. 2x4 closet, 600w MH/HPS, in soil, with technaflora nutes. I currently have 4 plants, 2 Yoda, 1 G13, and 1 Bubba. There are 2 Black Domina clones that I am waiting on, that I hope to grow this round as well:o. I would like to grow the yoda, domina, and bubba.... Im not sure what I will do with the G13? The Bubba by far was the best of my first grow:hippie:, an all Bubba grow would be nice too:smoke:, but I ended up with all these other strains as well. Im such a sucker for clones, like stray puppies... I must give them a home:eek:. Heres a look at the girls so far.... they are ready for transplant. I will contine to update as things move along, I was just so eager to get back to growing and back to GC!:gc_rocks:

First pic is my new Bubba clone, with my very own Bubba nug that I grew! Then a pic of Bubba now and the G13... last pic is the Yodas:smoke:

As I was checking the plants today, I noticed an odd spot on my Bubba. To me it looks like the start of PM. I neemed the plants, cut the funky leaves, put the lights closer.... But Im thinking I should just kill it! Their all still pretty young, and Bubba is my fave so far, but I am scared to risk it and compromise the grow later. What do you guys think? Kill it and move on, treat the room and other plants? Or try a save the bubba clone? Can it be saved?

Did you kill it? I personally would try to save it, not like you lose much by giving it a chance.

I cant kill the poor thing! It needs me.... I get to play nurse;). The Bubba has been doing fine, I plan to give it several days before my final decision. I just hope things turn out, Id rather use the lil greenhouse as a veg/clone area, than a plant hospital.

Now where the hell did I put that little cup:D

:rolleyes:Growing patients and just chilling while my babies get big. I think bubba looks good, no more spots or anything. Im still a bit apprehensive and watching her. The others are doing well, I need to transplant them. I think I may top them, or clone them out. I need to do something to keep them small, or slow growing til I have the other ones to catch up. Not the graceful transition into the second grow as I had hoped. Its just hard with all the clones that are around, for me not to end up with different strains at different stages. Hell my dumb ass my end up with more clones today! I guess with time and experience, I maybe able to get a perpetual cycle started. Off to a bumpy start, but in the end its an amazing hobby..... so no STRESS!:D

Oh I decided to try out a new soil to... from Happy Frog to Root Organics. My guy at the shop said it doesn't compact so much, drains well, and can improve the overall yield. To me, I feel that less water retention, less risk of buggers and problems.;)

Anyone use Root Organics before?

Im all for trying new things, so all advice and ideas are welcome.

Decided that in about two more weeks: 2 Yoda OG, 2 Fire OG, and 2 Black Dominas will go into the closet under the 600w to ScROG. I have Bubba, a scrawny fire og called Sparky, and a GrandDaddyPurp that will remain in the tent. Ill post some more pics soon

sure is lonely in here:(

Sounds like your gonna have a big family to work with ;) n yeah... journals aren't nearly as social as I was anticipating. Seems like most go unnoticed, or at least until buds start showing up

Well I sure Iam glad to have you around, keeps me from talking to myself:D. Ive got around 12 strains available to me right now, all the strains from the first grow and everything Ive collected since. I love indicas, so i collect strains that sound awesome, as I find them. The cheap little greenhouse in the photos is going to house the extras until I figure out something to do with them. Ive got some photos of the babies... Im gonna give them some time to get their shit together and shape up a bit, before they go to the closet.

1st pic is everyone and the G13.

2nd pic is mighty Bubba(who is doing well)

3rd pic is the GDP,

and last pic is of poor ol Sparky.

Bubba's lookin real good :hello: sparky on the other hand... haha  so I take it you like working with clones rather than seeds? Right now all I have is some bagseed and some others coming in from attitude, and Im gonna be building a small veg cabinet for my next grow and was considering building a cloning compartment too but I'm afraid that I'd end up killing anything I'd try to clone lol

Well for Pete's sake Misseerie, you didn't post a link to your new thread in you old thread !

I bet there would be more here (from there) if ya do that...

I JUST figured out that your new thread is linked in your sig

so I take it you like working with clones rather than seeds?

Unless your starting a new strain, running from clones is about the only way to go. You have a guaranteed female (as long as the plant cut from was), and you have a major jump-start on roots & size.

was considering building a cloning compartment too but I'm afraid that I'd end up killing anything I'd try to clone lol

I bet you won't. It's very easy. Read a little bit about it. I suggest everybody do this.

I'd rather throw out ten perfectly healthy clones than loose a strain with good characteristics.

Well now that Joes here.... Its a party:D! Ill drop a post in my last thread, see what happens. So far nothing to impressive to show, but Im working on it. I work with clones right now because they are so readily available and easy to deal with. Joes right about clones, low maintenance females(If there is such a thing;)) Berry in my first grow was from seed, and I have quite a collections of seeds too, but I suck at germinating. I plan to work on that, and when I feel proficient, I plan on buying LA CON seeds. There is a tutorial on making a bubble cloner here in the forums, so easy to do! You should definetly go for it. You will end up with more clones than you know what to do with.... this is partially the reason for my huge family!:smoke:

I have a few pics of the cloner I built in my first thread, if you wanted to check it out.... or you can go to http://forum.grassci...step-step*.html Rumpleforeskin has good tutorials.

Thanks for the encouragement, just what I needed to hear :P guess I'll start construction once I get some more funds going... sigh, I've literally already put more money into growing than my car :D proof of how much fun it is

Oh, one quick question, how far away do you keep your lights from your clones / what kind of lighting do you use? I've been sketching up my veg cabinet or whatever I'm gonna build n was gonna but a 4 bulb/2foot t5 in there, safe to assume that this would be ok for clones as well as vegging plants?

Just an FYI...

I simply use rapid-rooter plugs, a sprinkle of cloning powder (Schultz brand in fact), and let 'em sit in a sealed clear container (an empty peanut tub) with about a 1/4" of water with a dash of aloe vera juice to stimulate things. Roots pop out in about 1-2 weeks if I keep that 80 degrees. . .

Again, read up on cloning. Do you need a link ?

No construction necessary ~

:rolleyes:Haha I know what you mean, I have a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda that I was rebuilding..... then I decided to try growing. Hell the cars waited 43years, whats a few more?:P Currently my veg/clone station is a $30 greenhouse, with cheap plant lights from Walmart. The lights are about $11 bucks a piece with plant bulbs, I believe they are T8. I currently have 3 lights in the green house, and a clamp light with a cfl for spot lighting.:o I plan on adding 4 more of the Walmart lights. With the light I have now its enough for all my plants, but with 4 more... it will be awesome.:D My lights are a few inches from my plants. I just eyeball it, if the plants seem unhappy after a few hours, Ill move it accordingly. The Walmart lights say they put out 75w and use about 17w of power. They dont created much heat and dont seem to damage the plants even when the occasional leaf touches. Oh and if your gonna start cloning, start the cheapest route possible, and go from there. I boiled and drowned my rock wool clones, but have great success with the cloner. My buddy can clone anything in rock wool, but cant seem to get the same success with the machine. I guess what I am trying to say is that, if at first you do succeed, smoke a bowl, and try try again.:smoke:

I've been reading up on it was just curious if I could put them in the same room as vegging plants; the construction I was referring to was building a cabinet thing for my veg plants as I'm working on setting up a perpetual in the near future :P plus I'm planning on building a cloner following rumple's directions as I really enjoy such projects

@Misserie; mmmmmmm, I looooovvee classic cars, if I had the opportunity/space/income to work on one I'd definitely jump on it (I'd really love to get my hands on an early 70's camaro but we'll see)... right now I'm stuntin in an early 90's Vic... gotta say, despite it not being the most attractive or fuel efficent of cars, it's so comfortable even with 6 people in it haha plus I've been doing small cosmetic surgery to make balance out her lack of sexiness lol

anyways I feel like I hijacked your thread lol my bad :S how's my girl Bubba doing? :P and the rest of the fam, of course

I noticed talk about cloning... I just switched to cloned gel from some power I had... I can't wait to see which does better... I'm betting the gel cause the power is a little old...

Im so happy to have some conversation going in here:D. Glad you made it CSpotRn, always room for cheese balls!;)

@Mister You can put your clones in with your veg. Do you veg 18 or 24 hours? I leave my lights on 24h for clones, but 18h shouldn't make much difference:confused:. Keep an eye on them, and they should do fine. I dont give the babies as much direct light, as my veg plants. So the cloner is a bit farther from the lights, and also has a humidity dome, which reduces the light as well. I really dig the cloner and get roots in about 14days with just water(ph'd filtered) sometimes a splash of super thrive:cool:. I havent decided where to put my cloner currently, but should start cloning in about 3 weeks. Im so stoked for you to start cloning. Keep me posted on how it all goes.:hello:

So a 90's Crown Vic huh? Like gangster ride or cop car style? What would you like to do to it? I love cars and could go on and on for days. I personally go for ol school muscle, MOPAR at heart:love:..... but cars like plants come in many strains, and I like them all.

Hijacking this thread is completely fine... We could use something interesting to read:laughing:

Bubba is doing so very well. I am very very pleased that I didnt kill her... I thank you MisterIncognito for that one. Perfect post timing, saved her life.:yay:

@CSpotRn What method do you use to clone? Id love to be able to share these strains. Im going to work on my seed germinating this grow, and hope to end up with 4 new strains. So thats 17 strains between my grow buddy and myself:eek:. Ill post a list of strains afterwhile. I have an addiction, I hoard strains. I cant bear to lose any of them. I also adopt busted ass clones too! So so sad, but rehab is for quitters. :o

I have a bunch of pic to post

First 3 pics: I cant decide if I want to put my tent on top of a cloner, or use a smaller container for my cloner and put it in the tent. Actual cloner is under the shelf the tent is on.

Next 2: The Fire OG clones. They are doing ok

Last 3: Bubba in all her glory, Shes a bad ass bushy lil plant. So happy to have her.... Shes called Mister Bubba now! :P
