Hey guys I live in San Diego and I was just looking for a pretty sweet new bong. I'm looking to spend up to $300 US and I've been checking out some of these brands and models:
Illadelph
Roor
Ph(x) Trinity
and possibly HVY

Please let me know what you think, how the bong hits, just a basic evaluation :)
The dimensions I'd like are 18"-24" with no perks. It needs an ice catcher and I'm pretty sure I want a straight shot but convince me otherwise if you think I need to get a beaker. I'd like to get about 5mm glass but I'm willing to give and take on some of these dimensions. Thanks everyone and Happy Toking!

NO PERCS? WHY NOT!?

All good glass should be 5mm. Get a roor. Seem to be pretty popular.

I don't want perks because I want this to be a on the go bong, but I also want it to be nice. I'll get a bong back for it and everything but perks break to easily and there is no need if all you do is 1 hit snappers :)

I wouldn't suggest a bong if you want a piece that will be on the go.

And get a smaller bong too. Like 14"inch then if you really really need a bong for on the go. The larger ones, like 19inch, are too big to conceal. Mine barely sits in my backpack zipped up.

Bubblers are a nice alternative.

Haha I knew you'd mention not buying a bong then :D The reason I want a bong though is to be able to snap pretty much any size bowl in one hit. I just love it. In order to do that I think 18" should be the minimum but I'm not worried about bringing it around because I'll be hot boxing a car most of the time.

Yeah, for traveling you dont want a very big tube.

check out this, it's not local, but they'll ship to you: Travel Tube--Beaker or Straight

But anyways, check out different diffusers, they're what really affect the smoothness in a straight tube. If you decide to get the SSFG you should ask him how much it would cost to get a showerhead diffuser and a disk diffused slide to go with it.

funky monkey has some cool stuff, my friend got a mini showercap syn ~15" tall for $280. hits great and it'd be solid for on-the-go.

US tubes make some straight very thick and heavy beakers. I think they are 9mm thick so you wont break that bad boy.

Seconding this. Glassworks has some very nice hitting olympics. Every olympic tube in shop stacks to the top of the can. My buddy picked up a Olympic stemline from Glassworks and it is a great tube for daily use.

Yeah i would just head into funky monkey. Glassworks has some good stuff but theres less of a selection and i feel like it's more expensive.
