How to angle a stem in a vertical bong

Recently my school "Gave me" one of their precious 500 mL graduated cylinders. MY plan for this was to make it into a nice vertical bong with a glass stem and slide, but when researching i noticed that the grommets used for creating an air tight seal dont seem like they would accomodate an angled stem. If i were to just put the stem in the grommet as is it would point horizontally which is not what i want. Does anybody know of any solutions to this?

you could try making it stemless, but that would be pretty hard to do

i think it might work just doing it angled, but you would prob need the grommet to be thicker at the bottom and thinner at the top

I gotr your fix....

Go to home depot get a glass diamond head drill bit.

Drill the hole under running water. Drilling it kind of at an Oval shapped hole.

If its a straight circle hole. It will go in straight. If you make it oval shaped. It will go in in a downward facing direction.

Get a rubber grommet bong stem. from almost any head shop. or from any cheap bong.

Put into the hole and there you go., You got a bong.

That thing's gonna be sick! I second the oval hole/ diamond bit idea. I'd reccomend testing it out on an old bottle first. You don't want to f*ck it up on the first go around. You might hit up a headshop for a cheap china glass add-a-perk. They ussually have angled male stems. Good luck!

i have a friend that has a corona bong. the hole is on the vertical part of the bottle so it is possible. the rubber pce looks like it would be for a downstem to go straight in, you just need to have the downstem angled straight into the corner and it stays. just go to a head shop and tell them you need a basic downstem and slide and the rubber for a homemade pce theyll know what you need.

edit: theres no point in wasting time w a special hole if your also going to get a rubber thing (no offense to the other poster, thats a great idea but its not necessary.) the hole on the corona is just a normal hole. unless you wanted to make it like a legit glass on glass fit w a perfect hole to downstem fit. but i think that would be really hard unless you knew what you were doing
