Bong building

I just built my first bong out of a water bottle and I think slides are a pain, so I put a carb/toke hole/rush hole near the "mouth piece" and I started wondering if that affects your hit. The fact that its right under my mouth piece instead of near the water line. Does anyone have expirience with this potential problem (I haven't used the bong yet) and how do I fix it if it does matter?

it does not matter where the carb is.

just not to close to the bottom, cuz u dont water to spill out of it

Well, if you think about it (which can be hard) if the carb is closer to the bottom, then the incoming air will push all of the smoke up to where u inhale it. But if the carb's near the top, then the air would only push the smoke thats in the top of the chamber, so the hits might not be as thick.

But either way shouldn't really matter. just smoke it

putting the carb up to high might cause some of the smoke at the bottom to stall in the chamber, i've always had better results when the carb is lower. like what mk810 said it will help push the smoke up the chamber.

Thanks guys, I just tried it out a little while ago and it seems to be working fine

Thanks for the help, and it's a plastic water bottle for the most part so I'm gonna throw it out and make a new one pretty soon to avoid melting, and I'll put the carb lower. Peace
