Question Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

So, I've been smoking a lot lately.
My first go to device has always been my good ol' glass bowl. But smoking so much and seeing all the resin slowly making it's way to the very mouthpiece of it made me realize how much of that is going into my lungs. Not very good.

Now, I've never really invested into any really nice pieces before, but have been thinking about a vaporizer for a while. I knew it was a big investment, but the way I see it, it's a healthier way to get high and it could save me money in the long run as it's more efficient at getting THC out of weed than smoking.

So, I did it. My Volcano came in just Monday and already I'm in love with it. It cost me £190 ($300) used on eBay, shipped. Now this got me thinking...

There are so many of you out there who spend similar amounts of money on nice RooR bongs and such, and it I just don't understand why there aren't more people out there with Vaporizers. After all, you're still smoking weed and getting the same effect (or am I wrong) as you would with cheaper glass. So why not use that money to buy a vape and enjoy a completely different, and healthier, way to enjoy the herb?

I'm not hating, just curious.

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

The high is different with a vaporizer. Some people prefer to smoke and others like to collect glass. Once you own a vaporizer the collecting is over.

When you vaporize you are only able to consume the THC and some other Cannabinoids on the surface area of the buds, you never actually reach what is on the inner parts of the buds. The buzz is much more of a head high because of the near lack of CBD from vapor. Granted a really intense head high because you consume nearly all of the actual THC on the surface of the buds. (This is why you can smoke vaped bud and still get high if you dont set your vape to a very high temprature) Not only this but the taste is different.

My favorite thing to do is shove a vape hose down the downstem of my bong and turn up the vape so it slightly chars the buds. Then the vapor is diffused and cooled when I hit it, plus it lets me take advantage of the other Cannabinoids in my bud.

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

well you're not actually smoking when your taking hits from a vape. you're actually vaporizing. when vaping your weed never actually combusts, it only vaporizes the THC which is where the health factor comes in. by only heating it to the right temp to vape but not combust you dont get any of the other harmful shit that goes along with lighting your bowl on fire and releasing unhealthy carcinogens from the smoke from the combustion. that being said a ton of people don't vape cause they feel they wont get that same huge hit as a bong which is totally true but you do get just as if not more fucked up from vapor. It all comes down to preference. i own both a bong and a vape and love them both but there are a lot of times where i just want to actually smoke and not vape and vice versa. hope that helps

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

I like how quick and easy it is to smoke a bowl. That being said I do also own a vape. I dont use it as often because I purchased a cheap one off ebay for $50 bucks. The only downsie to mine is it tkes about 20 minutes to heat up. It works completely fine once its heated, the element just take longer, but for $46 dollars with shipping I can wait 20 minutes.
So if im in a pinch ill smoke, if I have alot of time ill vape

Most people don't know about or trust vapes.
I found vapes 8 years ago and never looked back.
I bought a ROOR just to hookup to a vape.

I obviously meant collecting pieces for the vape... duh.

I mean you could collect used volcano bags... or buy a easy valve and a standard valve. Ha ha... but that's nothing compared to all the slides, a/cs, etc available for bongs.

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

I have a vapor brothers as well as 20 or so odd pieces of glass that i live with. I love the variety and enjoy blunts, joints, chillums, and any other way really. I am all about the variety, so even though the vape was the choice for a long time it's kind of just part of the rotation now. It's an option i like to have

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

I love bongs more than anything, but I have never vaped. I have been more and more turned on to the idea of getting one. Where should I start looking for one that is a reasonable price but still works well?

Re: Why Glass Over Vaporizers?

I have a few pipes and bongs and a vape. the vapeing is great, that being said its a completely different high than using a glass pipe or bong. so really for me it comes down to personal preference. i personally love to use my bong the most. vapes give me at least what i would consider a clean headed high. where as a pipe or bong gives me a more... id say clumsy high which is what i personally am looking for. but its always nice to switch things up.

If the temp is set so high that you are charring the buds, than what is being diffused and cooled is not pure vapor, but is in fact, a high content of smoke.

It's all a trade off. If you want get all the CBN/CBD's, then, unless you are eating edibles, you are also getting the toxins that burnt plant material provides.

If you want to take in all the CBN/CBD's without any toxins..........go edibles. If you want to take in all the CBN/CBD's without going the edible route, than be prepared to also take in toxins.

Not necessarily. A lot of people collect vaporizers. Here's one of them:

Vapes in order used:
Vapeman
VaporGenie
Purple Days
VaporBros/VaporCannon being hit thru a bong
VripTech Heat Wand on bong
Iolite
