In larger bongs instead of salt try using BBs (as in store bought BB gun BB's) with isopropyl Alcohol. A bit more abrasive and the resin just sticks to the metal. BB's are real inexpensive and when your done swirling it around scrubbing the resin, pour out the alcohol and ditch the BBs in the trash. They work great for those hard to reach areas a scrubber can't get to!

I have never had a real problem cleaning my pieces up until i bought my bong. Its has 2 tree perculators. The problem im having is getting the lower perculator clean. Salt can't run down into in to clean the sides. Any suggestions? I currently fill my bong almost 26 inches with 91% iso and let it sit for ohh 30 mins to let the alchohol do some work before i shake it and let sit for a little longer. So how do you clean the (lower) perculator?

I've got the flu. Possibly H1N1. I have a tiny bit of herb I want to smoke while I'm sick because I'll have jack shit else to do.

When I finally start to get better, and clean my pipe out with the alcohol method, should all of the virus from the flu be gone?

My advice is to clean your pipe everyday if you're worried about infection. Put it this way: You are sick today, you smoke out of your pipe. You get 10% better the next day, and smoke out of your pipe again, and you're inhaling the virus that the pipe absorbed the previous day, so now you're 10% worse, again.

If you wanna be extra cautious, clean your pipe EVERY time you uise it

you seriously put metal BBs from a BB gun in your tube to clean it? your gona break your tube one of these days dude.. thats an accident waiting to happen.

if you want a real cheap cleaning solution go with simple green. undiluted. let it soak for a lil bit and your good as new,

LIFAD, if you already have gotten sick, you can't get sick from the same virus because your body has grown immune to it.

just went to walmart
grabbed a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and a roll of papertowels
put some alcohol in my bong, downstem, bong bowl, and spoon
shook it around and dried with the towels
looks brand new
the isopropyl is essential to cleaning any piece
only costs about $3

hey guys im having some trouble cleaning my illy pipe. it has a built in screen which is the problem. i let the whole thing sit in undiluted simple green, and it cleans literally every part of the pipe except for the glass screen part. i cant quite figure out how to get in next to the holes and scrape the resin out. any help is appreciated
