Had mine a month or two and use it everyday. Now it seems harder and harder to blow the smoke thru it. Is that what happens when its time to change them out?
Is there anyway to clean these or are they one and done???

same thing happened to mine. im pretty sure its because of excess moisture. leave it for about a week with the cap off so that it can dry out and itll be like new

Do some google searching. Or read on the package maybe?
I imagine it needs to be replaced soon. No smoke comes out of a smoke buddy right? So im pretty sure lots of resin builds up after a while. And moisture as CUtoker mentioned.

yeah guess i'll just leave the cap off now imagine its only purpose is to keep that little bit of extra smoke at the end from escaping.

Don't they cost around $20 though? I'd rather try a few methods to make it work again before getting another.

they should last a few thousand tokes, its just carbon in there, and carbon builds res FAST, i had to change out my carbon in my carbon piece like once a week if i blazed like3-4 bowls a day.
so its probably just super ressssss'ed
so time for a new one

Exactly, if you can spend money on pot,
you can spend the extra 20 on smoking utensils.
I mean,
if your in the situation where you CAN'T have it smell,
isn't it worth replacing the smoke buddy to ensure it does its job?

Exactly man, considering what this thing does if your trying to be stealth, and how many uses you get out of it, it could be worth more then 20 bucks!

Thanks for rep NYC.
If I couldn't smoke inside,
id be stocked up on smoke buddys.
Fuck messing around with toilet paper rolls and shit..
But yeah OP,
considering its getting harder to blow through,
im pretty sure thats the dead give away its time for replacement asap.

i live in a dorm and i cannot possibly tell you how awesome it is to just chill and smoke with the smokebuddy while watching tv
and i read something about how its supposed to last about 3-400 uses. not sure where i read that but i remember i did...

Im sure there is a rather large range of uses.
Depending on how heavily you smoke and use it.
Id imagine whatever it advertises is a little on the subjective side,
but who cares, the thing ghosts smoke without ruining your lungs..

Yeah, I didn't mean $20 was a whole lot, but it's still money. All I said was maybe try a few methods to see if you could clean it and save yourself the 20 bucks. No harm in trying to clean it if you're going to throw it out and get a new one anyway.

Something tells me that its not constructed to be cleaned well.
But i guess your right,
it wouldn't hurt to try.

theres no harm in trying to clean it, but be prepared for a SMELLY DISGUSTING liquid to pour out.
just use some ISO and hot water, and submerge that bitch in some hot ass water in some type of receptacle thats disposable like a ziploc freezer bag,
and shake like nuts, if it turns GNAR brown, then your in the money.
when your done, rinse with hot water, and let it air dry.
if that doesnt clean it.
your already the supplies into cleaning it. so go buy a new one!

They made it so that you cannot pour new activated carbon inside? Not cool.
That is pretty fucked up but hey, it's a good business practice to ensure that customers come back.
You could always make your own. Just take the basic idea and make it so you CAN change the carbon in the future.

Um so could I just get some of that activated carbon put it in a water bottle and poke holes in the bottom? Of course put some sort of screen over the mouth hole. Then maybed cut another bottle in half then attach it to the bottom of the current bottle, and put dryer sheets in that section?
Is that basically what a smoke buddy is? Because if so I can make like 4 with $20.
