you couldnt be more wrong.. you gotta watch it and really pay attention to what jonny depp is saying. it has a solid plot line that goes like this : a reporter and his crazy layer travel out to las vagas to cover a motorcycle race, and well they just happen to have a drug problem.. I couldnt ask for a better plot!!! Fear and Loathing FTW

Probably the most depressing film in my collection. Aronowski certainly has a way with that. The Wrestler was nearly as bad. Haven't seen The Fountain yet though.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has got to be one of the best drug movies ever, and a great book too. I've watched it on just about every drug I can think of. Weed, Alcohol, Shrooms, Cocaine, LSD, Methamphetamine, Opium, DXM, Oxycotton, Mescaline, Methadone, Vicodin, Valium and probably a couple more I forgot about.. I wanna get some Amyls and pure Ether, and maybe a multicolored galaxy of uppers, downers, screamers, and laughers too, I would watch the movie on that as well.

The plot is a little loosely tied together its almost just a bunch of small stories tied together by the fact that they all take place in the same place at about the same time (Vegas baby!)
(spoiler) If you don't know its about a doctor of journalism doing a story on a motorcycle race in the Nevada desert, and he brings his attorney along for legal advice. They consume copious amounts of all types of drugs, and after the race is over they attend a national police conference on drug abuse. But its mostly about getting fucked up and having fun and running up gigantic goddamn hotel bills and destroying rental cars.

The fountain definitely benefits from being wicked high. Of course, I was completely baked and thought it was going to be about 19th century magicians, so that helped make it seriously trippy.

It is kind of about drugs though... It is the drug for eternal life, the original drug story. Garden of Eden, Blood of Christ, Botox. People always want the drugs to live forever.

Those are the sad drug movies kinda make you want to not do drugs.

Drug store cowboy had William S Burroughs in it that dude's for REAL!!!
they say he shot over a million dollars up his vain and he wrote the naked lunch.


I'm not really feeling it on the drug movies where they just walk away like it's all good
(example:train spotting) you dont get into hard drugs and just be like ok i'm done, shit just dont work like that.
