Xbox 360 RING OF DEATH help

fuck guys my Xbox finally shit the bed I think, sometimes it just freezes during gameplay and sometimes it has the ring of death but if i let it sit for a while it turns on but freezes and shit, any of you have this problem? I think I can send it to microsoft but im not sure what the warrenty is, or If I had to sign papers when i first got it for it to have a warrenty

I was up at my buddy's last night and we were playing Halo and it cut out. Red ring of death. If you go onto the microsoft website theres a thing to fill out. Basicly you send it off and they replace it (Assuming you're still within the microsoft warranty)

I was smokin a blunt a few months ago and mine did the same shit, i guess they extended the warranty for 3 years or some shit for red rings so you can send it in and theyll send you it back repaired for free

How long did it take for you to get yours back? I want my buddy's back soon, it sucked not having any H3/ProEv/CoD4 tourneys :/

it only took mine 2 weeks, but it took my friends a month, i guess it depends on how many are being sent in at the time.

I don't know if anyone told you, but Microsoft extended the warranty for everyone to three years for any kind of problems like this so everyone is still under warranty. Just call the support number and they'll set you up to repair it or get a new one. it takes a couple of weeks, but its worth it.

Mine did the same shit, but I had a warranty to best buy and ended up buying the elite xbox for 20 dollars more

This is a temporary fix and it does work for a couple hours at a time. Sometimes it only worked for like 10 minutes but it does WORK trust me...

If you're warranty is up then there's guides online to show you how to manually fix the xbox. Good luck bro.

Microsoft sent me a box to pack it in - sent it away - got my new Box back in like a week and a free month of xbox live

wrap it into a damp towel not like soaking wet but damp, put it in the freezer for about 15 minutes.

i had bought an xbox used(big mistake) just to save a buck. had it for not even a month and got the red ring of death. brought it back to gamestop and got them to give me another one. in less than a month that one took a shit too. brought that one back to game stop pissed as hell. got the guy to admit that theyre just trying to get rid of all these shit boxes cuz they know they are gunna get the red ring. they have to take them if theres nothing wrong with them when people bring em in. so i ended getting a halo 3 edition xbox and only had to pay the difference in price. it was worth the money IMO. the halo editions suposedly have a much better chip set in them.

the reason that they get the ring is the solder on the chip set melts together and causes a hardware failure. when you get your xbox back i would invest the 20 bucks to get one of those coolers that snap onto the back to prevent it from happening again.
