It's opening day at Fenway Park and they brought in Bill Buckner to throw out the first pitch. For those of you who have been living under a rock, he was one of the most hated-on players (before the curse was broken) because he committed an error that cost Boston the '86 World Series.

He's in the announce booth being interviewed....it sounds like he took about fifteen Xanax. He's just mumbling...it's so boring! He's only like 50-something, he just sucks at speaking I guess. If he was a professor or a teacher I'd be asleep in that class every fucking day.

I was still a Mets fan, converting over to the Dark side after the Mets decided they would not be looking to persue another championship for about 20 years.

yeah we got there just ass all the ceremonies started.. this is my 4th opening day in 4 years.. a friend has season tix so he brings me every year.
I thought the buckner thing was great. the fans were way into it.
It was totally unfair to blame buckner for that WS. yeah he let the ball roll by but if stanley doesn't throw that wild pitch, and if McNamara puts in the defensive replacement like he did all year it may have been a different outcome.
I'm surprised he came back after the way he was treated.. if it were me i'd tell the sox and their fans to go F-themselves.

Man I would love to set in those sets on top of the green monster when the Yanks come to town, that would be like a dream. There's just something about the old stadiums I love, so much history...thinking of all the great players that have walked on the field, man!

I was never really mad at him in the first place, the whole thing happened when I was about two months old...it was just annoying to hear him as a guest in the announce booth because he talked so slow and softly.

yeah they put up an old school looking coke sign above the stands on the 3rd base line.. it looks like it's been there 100 years... pretty cool.
I liked watching manny hit those coke bottles though. It's weird w/o them.

gonna catch another game in June on a sunday after a Saturday night Phil show in BOS! That's gonna be a killer weekend.
