You could be there all fuckin' night."

I was thinking the same thing as I watched them go down in OT. I was saying "Kansas didnt win this, Memphis handed them the win" I think they missed 4 of their last 5 and when they lost Dorsey as well.

I guess kudos to Bill Self for making Memphis earn it at the line, but Memphis was the better team. I think that was proven.

Great game, wasn't it, dude?

I thought it would be competitive, but it exceeded any expectations I had. The two most talented teams in the nation played last night, which is extremely rare these days for the championship game.

Coach Cal made some questionable decisions down the stretch that might have changed the outcome. No timeout after Rose's last free throw was good? No intentional foul after Kansas got the ball in bounds on the last play of regulation despite the fact that Memphis was up three? Oh, well. I think Memphis was the most talented team in the nation this year, and they came very close to winning it all. Kansas simply did what they needed to do to get the job done. I'm happy for them. I'd much rather they get the attention of the national media than UNC or Duke.

What about those Kansas big men, though? Just playing, dude.

Calipari made a couple of terrible coaching calls. They should have fouled the Kansas player on the final 3-pt shot. Send him to the line to shoot 2, the best that could have happened is Kansas brought it within 1 pt.

That and shooting 20% from the FT line will kill you down the stretch. They were up 9 with 2:20 seconds left. I mean, they let them off the hook.

^Truly great teams close it out at the end, though. I actually thought Coach Cal might be win this year despite the fact that I disagree with his approach to coaching, but it bit him in the end.

If he couldn't win with this team, I have serious doubts that he'll ever be able to do it.

Hm are you forgetting that Calipari also took UMass to the final 4? Calipari is a great coach. I too dont agree with his free throw philosphosy however I think he realized he had a poor FT shooting team and was simply trying to give his team confidence. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to realize that you need to be able to make FT to win close games.

Actually, UMass was stripped of that FF appearance. He might have made it there, but he cheated to do it. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's a part of his "philosophy," but one wonders why so many rumors seem to pop up about his tactics.

Believe me--I don't think he's a terrible coach. I just think there are other coaches out there that have the whole package, whereas Coach Cal has his faults.
