I have had two friends that do mma. One is 1 and 2 and the other I think is 1 and 1. I have wrestled/mma'ed them both and beat them. But they do Hook N Shoot in our area, its pretty legit. The one who is 1 and 2 did a competition that ended up on HDnet. I will probably never do real training though, to much yelling. I can't deal with that.

Oh yeah.. I do have about one hundred pounds on the both of them... But they are trained. I only train by watching UFC and whatnot on tv and weight lift. Only been in two fights outside of those fights.

If your trainer is yelling all the time then thay aren't a good one. The best can just talk to you and get you motivated. I can't ever remember any of my trainers ever yelling at me.

I don't know. Only been to one place and it seemed like they were yelling, maybe just talking loudly but it seemed like yelling.

Yeah regardless if it seems like they are yelling then they aren't doing it right. Every session I went to my trainers would always just talk to me and give me technique tips or if I was working out they would just say come on man one more. But then again I don't know what gym your buddies go to they might have an entirely different philosophy.

I wrestle and I'm thinking about training mma at our local gym.

But who's stoked for Rampage, and Forrest Griffin?

Big MMA fan here. Haven't got too much hands on experience other than a few years of Jiu Jitsu. Yo Rythm, you said you took Krav Maga? That's that Israeli commando shit isn't it, hardcore, I saw it on some TV show. By the way here is a good site to see old fights, fightviewer.com

i love MMA but hate bjj, it sort of generalized the sport. But there are some unconventional fighters now who are slowly breaking brazilian jiu jitsu apart like faber and chase bebee (even though he just got his ass walloped by a technical master recently).

Urijah Faber is the funnest fighter to watch imo, he has the best fighters intuition I've ever seen and just makes shit up on the fly. He's the only person I've seen throw an elbow to a defensive opponent who was grounded throwing up-kicks. Small shit like that.

If it wasn't for bjj there wouldn't be mma as it is right now.

Has anyone else read through eddie bravos mastering the rubber guard book?
Its one of the most well put together books on jiu jitsu i have seen and the way his techniques flow together is definetly improving my bottom position.
