Damn, that's significantly less expensive. Is there a newegg equivalent of that that will fit my case?

Like I said I'd like to get it all from newegg to reduce shipping costs...

that looks pretty good man. since the motherboard is retail and not oem, it will come with most of the data cables you need (sata and ide for hard drives and optical drives) the power supply comes with all the power cords, obviously. and the case will come with the front panel cords and the screws to put it together.

edit:: oh and yeah it should all fit. the thing you have to pay attention to is the form factor. in this case its ATX. The motherboard and the power supply are the main things that have to match in form factor. A micro ATX motherboard will fit in a full size ATX tower, however, a full sized ATX motherboard won't fit in a micro ATX case.

and one more thing, it looks like the cooler you got has to have a harness mounted on the motherboard BEFORE you install the motherboard, believe me its a pain in the ass to take the motherboard out again when you realize what you've done.

Well here's the case specs:

21.3'' x 8.1” x 19.9”

And the motherboard specs:

12.0" x 8.3"


That should work right?

Just checking things over again, looking at the sizes of everything.

The power supply has a 20 pin connector, while the motherboard has a 24 pin. That'll fit, right? It doesn't have to be the same pins, right?



edit: And probably a dumb question, but the case has a door that opens on the front, right? I'm probably just high...

So I just read XP doesn't support Directx 10, just 9. So, with that in mind, I think I am going to go for Vista. As much as I hate it, I'd rather not have to spend an additional $200 down the road to get to play Directx 10 games.

Now my question to you, is how is Vista versus XP going to make a difference in gameplay? Will I notice one?

I'm not sure if anyone has brought this up or not, but are purchasing a new keyboard/mouse set? Also about the OS, I don't want to get banned so I'll be as vague as possible but, you don't necessarily have to purchase one to get its full benefits.

Yea I do have a keyboard/mouse picked out. They're just really simple though, I have no need for a super delux keyboard/mouse.

Are you talking about linux? I've got several flavors on CDs around here, but I dunno, I never really got used to how it all worked. Call me ignorant if you will, but I'm gonna stick with Windows.


Oh, also, fuck Vista. There really aren't any Directx10 games out even, so I'm gonna stick with XP.

Nah, I've never had any luck with pirated copies of ANYTHING.

It's worth the money to me to buy something that works and is Legit.

I opted to go for a higher efficiency power supply because, well, someone said I should.

That's ok though, cause if I'm just getting XP, the cost is about the same with the new PSU.
