I am a huge fan of the LoZ series. Man, I WAS Link when I was growing up. And sometimes I still want to be the defender of Hyrule. Ocarina of Time really defined me as a gamer. I played that game non-stop over and over again.

I can't recall ever playing anything but the original Legend of Zelda on NES.

....however that is the greatest game ever made.

I like them all, everything about them is so mesmerizing & hypnotic. It must be genetic, because I got a 5 year old that plays like a champ, only 5 years old man...its pretty cool. If he's not playing the video game, he's outside roll playing Zelda, cutting the shit out of the wifes flowers looking for some potion or something lol.

Zelda is an awesome series. I want to play the new one, but I do not want to get a Wii... I am stuck between a rock and a hard place. Check out this video from the Angry Video Game Nerd about the Zelda series... Chronologically confusing that series is.

OOT was amazing...who else sat around making up cool songs on the ocarina? haha...i had the original for NES as well...both (N63 and NES) Gold Cartridge

how much did I love this game? I remember the exact day I got it...November 23rd 1998...I had that shit reserved for at least a year haha I was so happy when i got it...then I got stuck in the Great Deku Tree because it took me a while to figure out you could light the sticks on fire (I never use strategy guides...I feel they take away from the experience).

Truly a milestone of my childhood.

btw Did anyone else realize how much heavier (physically) the game cartridge for OOT was than almost any other game for N64?

I was stuck in the water temple for so long...then when the lake refilled I remember how I thought it looked just like water in real life!

And then there was the time that I specifically bought the game boy color just so I could play link's awakening DX

Edit: None of you have mentioned oracle of seasons/ages?
for shame!

I remember when I was first introduced to Zelda... Link's Awakening just happened to be a random game my mom bought to go with my Gameboy. This was back when all they had was the original clunky black and white Gameboy. I believe it must have been for my birthday in 1994 when I turned 7. It was my favorite game immediately. I think it probably took me over a year to beat it... then I ended up beating it over and over, especially once the color version came out. Then for Christmas 1998 I got a N64 and I realized pretty soon that Ocarina of Time was the best game I had ever played. The rest is history.

....And yes, I have noticed that all the Zelda games for cartridge systems have been significantly heavier than just about any other game. Especially N64 and SNES. I guess it takes a lot of information to make a game so great.

I have it. It's pretty good as long as you don't mind controlling it with the stylus. Think Wind Waker mostly, with a small Four Swords flavor, and the portable-ness of Link's Awakening. And the local multiplayer is pretty fun. Online lags too much for me.

I'm sick of people bashing Zelda 2: Adventure of Link. Great game - definitely one of my favorites.
