The Herbal Chakra Meditation
Sit or lie comfortably. Take one puff of sacrament and immediately begin focusing on the feelings throughout the body. Those new to this practice may begin by focusing upon the high in a very small area of the body, such as the tip of the right index finger. Be carefully aware of every subtle detail of feeling in this area. Allow your awareness of the high to spread to the entire finger, then the hand, arm, both arms, chest, torso, head, legs and feet, (not necessarily in that order). Do not avoid any pain, fear or other unpleasantness found anywhere in the body. [Such feelings are usually the result of Intentions which inhibit personal growth, and these can be "reprogrammed". Fear can be replaced by love, confusion by clarity, and pain by vibrant energy/positivity.]
As thoughts inevitably run though the mind, (in the case of most persons) simply relax, and return again and again to a feeling-awareness focus on the high, even if this means doing so a hundred times every minute. Chronic, rampant, seemingly unstoppable thoughts in the mind are a symptom of stored stress in ones' being. As the practice of meditation proceeds, stress is released, and the tendency of thoughts to intrude upon this process will gradually diminish. Succeeding meditations will tend to get easier and easier, just as you will learn to get higher and higher. Be patient and don't let the simplicity of this method of meditation deceive you.
Let your awareness travel freely from one area of the body to the next, as it will be inclined to do. Feel every subtle detail of the high, body-wide. Areas of particular stress or activity will attract your awareness, and hold it for longer periods than the rest of the body. Allow this to happen, as it is a function of natural self-healing processes, energy body activity and the expansion of consciousness. Don't be concerned or irritated by intruding thoughts, just continue to return to a feeling/awareness-oriented focus on the high within the body, in a relaxed manner.
After about 5-10 sessions of the above Herbal meditation, you can begin to successfully employ an increasing mastery of INTENT in conjunction with this practice. Simply by focusing meditatively upon the high, it's vibrational level will tend to be raised. But through a knowledge of intent and a through living a clean lifestyle, you'll soon discover that the high can be "navigated at will", or in other words, made progressively higher at will, and in whatever ways you deem desirable. The high is NOT finite…it can be increased indefinitely (to levels akin to LSD and ayahuasca-like effects) by any practitioner who has the internal discipline of mind and soul to accommodate such levels. The only limit to how high you can get is within your own concepts of high, the mental taboos of society, and the health of your body-mind.
Without the luxury of advanced explanations of consciousness in this article, I recommend that you consider the fact that literally EVERYTHING you do in life is based upon intention. The reading of these words, typing on your keyboard, walking from one room to the next and expanding your consciousness to the level of a Master, are ALL exercises of intent. The Mastery of intent is the ultimate Mastery, for it is intent that is at the very center of the consciousness which you ARE.
The greater mastery and employment of intent can be crystallized down to a four-part procedure. In the case of the practitioner of the high, these four steps can catapult you again and again into higher levels of consciousness. Through these four steps, you can in effect "travel the high" like a roadway into the infinite distance, and to new vistas of self rarely dreamed of through the history of mankind.
You can raise your level of HIGH indefinitely through the following simple knowledge;
THE EMPLOYMENT OF INTENT
(for rendering internal change)
- BE AWARE OF YOUR CURRENT STATE OF BODY/MIND, (this is accomplished through meditation).
- GAIN FAMILIARITY WITH THAT WHICH IS TO BE INTENDED, (such as a higher HIGH) and the Intent to be acted upon is crystallized.
- THE DESIRED STATE IS HELD STEADY IN THE MIND, (for at least 5 minutes). Visualize and feel this state as if it already exists, until the body/mind shifts into it.
- THE NEW STATE IS "HELD IN PLACE" throughout the body, (or a given chakra). This new state is maintained by treating it as the new reality of the self on a permanent basis.
Subsequent applications of the above four-step process render cumulative results. Be persistent!
After conducting your "Herbal Chakra meditation" for 20-30 minutes, employ these four steps above in the gaining of greater HIGH.
Step 1 above is already completely through meditation upon the high. A focused awareness upon whatever level of high you're currently in is extremely useful, in allowing you to go consciously higher. Much like climbing a mountain, getting higher at will is a matter of placing one foot in front of the last by degrees, (typically), stopping to survey where you're at in any given moment, and looking ahead to see where you'd like to go next.
The "looking ahead" to greater highs is very similar to this mountain analogy. No matter what level of high you're in already, you can go even higher. To employ Step 2 in the "Gaining familiarity with that which is to be intended", you need to simply "look ahead" within your inner landscape of the high in order to see where that Path can lead. In other words, you simply need to imagine/intuit what "a little higher" would feel like and move in that direction. This may sound mysterious to the beginner, but it is a very simple matter. Even a vague conception of what "a little higher" is like will act to propel you forward to achieve it. With experience, the meditator will find that they become increasingly proficient in crystallizing states higher than they currently are in, and their results in "traveling the high" will become greater, through less internal "effort". Listening to meditational music, or some other favorite type that is not jarring to the ear, will also aid the practitioner in getting higher and higher. Dance, drumming, being in nature and even conscious sex can also aid in getting higher…but remember, it is INTENT which is key to this process. Keep this in mind, and regardless of the method used to get higher, gain a greater mastery of intent in this raising of the high.
Step 3 is begun as soon as you reach your desired destination within the high. When your level of high has moved into or beyond the one you pictured/intuited in Step 2, a new challenge must then be addressed. It is actually easier to gain a higher state than it is to hold one in place for a useful length of time. Disciplined, patient focus is required to hold your new level of high in place. But through experience, this step becomes easier and easier to perform. Doing your Herbal meditations in an undisturbed location, preferably in nature, will aid you in holding your new level of high. So will good company who have a similar spiritual intention. In any case, the holding of a greater high will depend upon your unwavering, body-wide focus upon that new level. Stay focused on that new, higher high! The longer and more often you do this, the more that new state will be made yours for longer periods of time.
Finally, Step 4 involves yet another intention, and that is, the embodiment of the new level you've stabilized in Step 3. Assume/intend that this new level of high is now your permanent base-consciousness. As you've hiked up this mountain of the high, Step 4 is likened to establishing a new "base camp" further up it's face in lieu of attaining the summit.
Repeat this 4-step process again and again as desired, to achieve higher and higher levels of the high. I call this process, "the raising" or simply "raising".
Try not to rely on more and more herb as a booster for this progression during any one meditation…I recommend only taking a maximum of three-four puffs per session. The body, mind and soul can tire from this peculiar form of exertion, and they need rest after some raising and intending. Take three days of rest between sessions.
That's it. It sounds simple enough, but the DOING of this practice requires many things from you, not the least of which is spiritual dedication and internal discipline. If you meditate as I've recommended, and also employ the four steps in the manifestation of intent during each smoke, your smokes will get progressively higher and higher. You may even be shocked by this progression, and not know what to do with the results. Persevere never the less, and remember that you're engaging a process of conscious self-evolution in the expansion of consciousness. Remember also that the expansion of consciousness is a SCIENCE as much as it is a mystical endeavor, one that requires expertise like any other field, in order for one to truly excel.
