how has it worked? since its inception christianity has enabled people of higher power to use and manipulate people of lower power in order to achieve their own personal ambitions.

what i think: people fear the unknown, which is the fabric of our existence. people have come to this realization many times, and have addressed it in many ways. one way is to create a religion that answers people's fears (like why are we here? where are we going?). when you have the answer to someone's fear, or what they perceive as the answer, you can take them anywhere you could possibly want.
