I had a revelation like that last year, then I decided that it was a result of our flawed instinctual emotions like greed, lust and revenge.
Our instincts drive our thought process. I think that most people don't give the correct appreciation to their free-will and let themselves be ruled by addiction and emotion (or are emotions addiction?) In my opinion people need to just get together and think, not make any decisions, but just look around and observe and see what society is lead by. Western Society has been run by greed for much of history, in the edo era of Japan people were open and had few wars due to there focus on expanding the mind through meditation and discpline and Japan flourished spiritualy, but then Japan was exposed to western culture and and the appreciation(sp?) of the mind was replaced by the appreciation of wealth and the medji era started, and it started with a horrible civil war where many people died because of greed. Hope that made some sense |

no, marijuana is illegal because if it were legal, paper companies and acetominophen companies would go out of business.. it's all economics.. Kimberly-Clark helped ban the farming of hemp and shelped start the whole reefer madness.. also in that era, (late 1930s) a new invention was released that made hemp easier to harvest and that would hurt these companies..
the following is an incomplete list of companies who support criminalization excerpted from Ed Rosenthal's "Why Marijuana Should Be Legal" ================== Partial List of Contributors to "Partnership for a Drug Free America" by the Amount of Contribution Gold Medallion Bayer Corporation Consumer Healthcare Products Association Kimberly-Clark Foundation Inc. McNeil Consumer & Specialty Pharmaceuticals Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. Pfizer Foundation, Inc. Pharmacia Corporation Schering-Plough Corporation Silver Medallion ExxonMobil Foundation The UPS Foundation ============= that's only a partial list, I've narrowed down to suspicious contributors most of them are healthcare products and drug companies who would lose lots of money if marijuana were decriminalized (meaning not criminal in any sense - legal, not to be confused with decrim laws) they would lose money.. marijuana is a good source for headache relief and pain relief, and hemp is much tougher and more abundant than paper from trees..

for those of you wondering what i blanked out previously, it was "a hypocrite"
if you have these beliefs but don't act on them, well, what more can i say? me, i adapt to whatever's around me if i'm in it for long enough (i'm talking years), but i don't do it just at the snap of some fingers.. it takes me time to adapt to my surroundings, i am myself and nothing but.. but that's not the topic here, we're talking about the poster Sitting Bowl.. if you sincerely believe in what you're saying, then you should just go AWOL and live with nature.. do it

ya i know its hypocritical to not just run away into the woods and chill. But im young(still in high school). I got a lot to learn, and i actualy hope to one day, after college, live completly independent of society... grow my own food, build my own furniture. I think it would be pretty sweat to live like the guy in Cast Away. i probably will sail to some island some day and chill.

I applaud Western society. First off, life isn't fair. There will always be someone on top and someone on the botton in this world. It is human nature to want and gain power. Even in the animal kingdom, animals fight for control of territory b/c they will be more successful with more territory.
Honestly, where else in the world are people more equal than here in America. People who work hard and have some intelligence can make something of themselves. There are so many grants and free hand outs to people of the lower class to climb the social ladder. Its naive to think that CEOs do nothing but play golf and go on vacation. The climb up the corporate ladder is ruthless and isn't something that any person could do. I do believe that CEOs get paid too much and get too many benefits, but oh well... life isn't fair. |

As for animals, they only kill under the circumstances. Predators kill, or they die. No energy is wasted on useless confrontations, unless they are vital to survival. I doubt a corrupt CEO is going to impale you on his pen after an auspicious takeover.
