Honestly...get over it

I mean it. All of you.

I can honestly say I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing "What if this reality isn't real", "what if we are controlled by computers who feed out minds", "what if this is only a dream", etc. etc.

The Matrix was a fun movie which brought up some (very few) interesting philosophical questions. But I get a feeling it's about to ruin a whole stoner generation. At least 50% of threads in this section does have a title or comment related to that movie. And they never stand. Ever!

To all you stoners who think too much about that movie and have some questions/fears related to it: Get the fuck out of your house, get a copy of Adams' Hitchhiker's guide as a starter, then go read up some things about philosophy. You will probably notice that there are many people who've had the same thoughts as you before. And moved on...

I know This might be a thread for the box, but I posted it here anyway

The matrix managed to sneak a few philosophical points into young viewers minds. They understand it in movie form because literature is practically unknown to them. As annoying as those type of posts can be, at least they're inspired to continue research in what interests them. Remember kids.....

It did? Personally I found it a halfassed attempt at Christian conversion at best...

I much prefered bound...and I really don't know what kinda spirituality you get outta 2 lesbians making out on your tv but I'd rather see that hands down.

Matrix sucked...I too am sick of people citing it as if it's somehow a work of art....it's a god damn gimmick for sequels!

First felt alot like "Bound" another film by the directors in it's style. Very slick dark and almost surreal with the camera shots. Same for their first film...

Last 2 tho...god I mean what the fuck? Yay he's jesus...what a stupid fucking way to end it. How about...zion is mearly a patch to the system to keep stubborn souls down?

Too bleak huh? Everyones fucked no one matters and no matter how hard ya try the world still sucks.

I sorta like that message much more then neo-jebus.

Care to elaborate? Silly putty has more of a connection to christianity then that movie..

First one was a groundbreaker of a movie. The sequels are money makers. Nuff said.

You didn't notice any of the lame references to sacrifice for the good of man blah blah all that crap in the 2nd and 3rd film.

One was just freaky which is how it should have stayed imho. It had the same feel as Bound which was very unpredictable and overall enjoyable to watch but the last 2 just felt tacked together with a hodgepodge of biblical puns here an there.

I'm too lazy to list 'em but if you have a copy of 2 and 3 on hand the commentary has some info and I'm sure matrix nuts have posted about it elsewhere.

You have not given into the temptations of flashy graphics. The movie overall sucks. I wish i could build a time machine and go back in time so i could tell myself not to watch The Matrix.

As I said...rent or buy Bound. It's MUCH better...

the first movie took over 10 years of collaboration to to put together.

the 2nd and 3rd took less than 6 years from writing to the big screen. they were TRASH!

actually... i havent seen the third. i decided id never watch it, and just assume it totally kicked ass and saved the trilogy
