| Re: Can this life be a dream
Well to answer that question we must first consider something else, what do you mean by "this life" and what do you mean by a "dream"?
We'll assume that by "this life" you mean reality. And by "dream" you mean the experience you have when you go to sleep.
To assume that this life is a dream, would mean that a more "real" reality exists outside of what we're experiencing right now. If this were the case, then right now would be a dream, and reality would be the part that we haven't accessed yet, or the place where we'll "wake up" as you put it.
First, let's forget the original question and assume that this is the only reality we will ever exist in. Now with this in mind, let's look at the dreams we have in this reality. Are dreams really any less real than what we perceive to be reality? Sure we can't always recall dreams, in fact we rarely remember them at all. But think about it, when you're dreaming, are you conscious of reality, or able to recall reality? You're not, and you can't, so how are dreams really any different than what we perceive to be reality?
Some will argue that when you remember your dreams, they don't make any sense so they must be nonsense that isn't important or real. But, when you try to make sense of a dream, you're looking at it through the perspective of "reality", a totally different and foreign perspective. If you tried to look at "reality" while dreaming, it would make no sense to you either because you're looking at it through an entirely different perception.
Back to the question, is this life a dream? Well there is no difference between dreams and what we perceive to be reality. The word "dream" is just a label used to describe a different reality that we exist in. We can't make sense out of this alternate reality because we're limited by the perspective that we have while in the "reality". Because we can't make sense of it, we don't ever question whether or not it is still real.
So in conclusion, there is no difference between reality and "dreams" because dreams are reality but they don't make sense to you when in the opositte reality.
