2012 - shift in consciousness - drugs legalized

Think about it. 2012 is a time marked in the future to be something like a climax in our soon to be history. I trully don't think the climax will be catastrophic nor do i believe nothing will happen and time will march on.

We all know marijuana is going to be legalized in the states soon - Obama loosening the DEA's powers over it; medical mj taking off in 13 states and soon 13 more; the full legalization is already serious questions in a few states. Not to mention the UK sackin Prof. Nutt recently because he told the truth about LSD, X and weed. Because of Nutt, it's possible more scientists will be quitting in protest.

The point i'm trying to make is that you have to take 2012 as not a spiritual revolution or a complete destruction of life, but rather a mix of the physical and spiritual; almost a harmony achieved of the two.

I trully think our change of policy towards the safer, spiritual changing drugs will herald in a new era of spiritual thinking as well as responsible acting in our world. Anybody that's done acid has come out of that experience with a better outlook on life in general. Most people that have been high from smoking/vaping/eating/whatever weed are changed, i'd like to think, for the better.

So maybe with the new, more responsible outlook on drugs, 2012 will end up being the year we mature as a species. Who knows, maybe the dudes in the sky watchin will take note of this haha

Just my 2 cents on the times to come

I suppose it might make more sense that weed would be legalized in the US closer to the end of Obama's term, which happens to be in 2012, rather then the beginning of it. That way he wouldn't be jeopardizing his entire term, rather he'd be doing it in the end where it doesn't really matter what people think since he's on his way out anyway.

This is all speculation however.

Re: 2012 - shift in consciousness - drugs legalized

I don't really see 2012 as much of a pivotal point in any sense. We mature as a species every year and moment insofar as one of us challenges past idols and looks for a new alternatives every human life is an expression of this. Although many of them may not matter, and some are likely a digression.

In so far as the significance of the 2012 has only been hype up, because of its connection to the mayan calendar and possible ancient prophecies. However, the mayan system doesn't really suggest anything its just the end of the current cycle in their system and likely as far as they got in figuring things out for themselves. It will be another year what we do with it is our choice. It may be many things if we choose it to be. Often prophecies are fulfilled, because we will them to be and place more value in their truth then anything else. Ancient Judaism is one example, not that the Jews have ever stopped looking for a messiah. At the time it was the most important thing and came to a kind of climax in Jesus.

Careful with such broad generalizations. You have to keep in mind that a lot of users don't know how to use responsibly, just as a lot of users know exactly how to use responsibly. Chances are that many of those users from the former also do not take any sort of enlightenment from their use of such drugs. I'd even wager that a lot of the seasoned users here were what I'd consider 'irresponsible' with their use when they first started out, including myself. It took me a good bit of time to realize that there was much more to smoking or tripping than just being fucked up.

I'm sure he plans on running for reelection though. The majority of America would have to be for legalizing marijuana for him to attempt to legalize it otherwise he might not get reelected if Americans don't approve of it.

Since I've tried acid I have a negative outlook on things like seeing cities and shit in a real dystopian sort of way, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying life so I don't really care.

Re: 2012 - shift in consciousness - drugs legalized

2012 has nothing to do with great social changes in our society. It has to do with a calendar and a new long count beginning. The Mayans predicted nothing that was intended to be for our societies. Goddamn these threads are annoying.

Lots of drugs does not equate to spiritual englightenment....

Meaning marijuana, LSD, mushrooms, etc etc

They could be used as progressors or oppurtunities of growth, or they could be used recklessly and irresponsibly. The latter seems to be true for the majority of kids in America, based on what I've seen.

Re: 2012 - shift in consciousness - drugs legalized

just cus they didnt make a 2013 on the mayan calendar you think the world is going to end and that drugs will be legalized ha y2k...grow up and realize that marijuana will never be legalized for recreational use just decriminalized and even then it wont be in every state not every state will legalize medical either with the new law it leaves it up to the state and not every state will do this they make to much money off of inprisoning us for smoking to fully legalize...lsd is not a drug that is meant to be played with it opens your mind and some people arent fully ready for that nor do they realize that it really is like a trip or a vacation if you will and that you will come back from it

Yeah, if you talk to this guy;

Sorry, aint shit gonna happen in 2012, and I'd hold out more for the Apocolypse than I would weed being legalized. The textile, pharmacutical, and Tobacco industries aren't going to allow it any time soon.
