It's bad, but that video was a stretch. A lot of the clips they showed were from comedy shows that were being ironic in their portrayal of superficial teens and weren't even selling anything in particular.
This has been going on forever and honestly with that advent of "viral marketing" we took an inadvertent step in the right direction. TV's are going out of style and now advertisements on the internet are more honed in on personal interests rather than blanket demographic products that have been so popular over the past century.
And now that I've played devil's advocate

.... I still see this as a big issue. We've just entered the beginning of a new age of advertising and your video made a lot of good points about cell phones and the mobile web which is going to be the next big stepping stone for advertisers. Cell phones (Now "smart phones") will be the new TVs and they are advancing quickly.
I'm not as concerned about traditional computers as there is more control there, its the mobile phones getting big corporate sponsors that will draw in the kids and their eventual brand loyalty.
