Okay, so Michael Jackson passed on, and my friend had something in his Facebook status that basically said it was a sad day in music history. The end of an era. Which it is.

This girl, fuckin' bible-thumper, starts laying into him saying how he wasn't good, etc. Now, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but fuck. She started saying how Christian music was better than MJ, which again is a legitimate opinion and that's fine. I felt I had to say something, but it has now turned into an argument about faith.

Read on, GC. I'd like to think not all Christians are like this, but I'm wondering.

He was a legend. There is no arguing that point. One of the best dancers, if not the best. He gave us the Moonwalk, and his music video for Thriller was the first of its kind. Mind-blowing. He was a child star from the get-go, performing with the Jackson 5, also legends.

Yeah, controversy surrounding his supposed child molestation charges; so what?

I mean Michael Jackson's contributions to music have definatly been over shadowed by his hem hem "iffy" child situations...but regardless he revolutionized music as we know it. Even looking at the differences from album to album for him from rock to R&B he was a large prgressor in alt rock if anything. And as for the christian music you probably wouldn't have anythinng but hymns if it wasn't for the influence MJ had on the the music scene in the 1980's, even Petra, the original "christian rock" band was clearly vicariously influenced by what michael jackson did by introducing synthesizers into mainstream rock and roll. no michael jackson was definatly the prince of pop

I went to a day camp with my friend (who is devout beyond anything) when I was like 9, (kind of forced to, I had no interest but I didn't want to upset him by refusing) and you know what the activity of the day was?

Arghhhhh I just want to chime in to your conversation with her.

I used to work with this girl, similar to Karii, except she was way worse. We ended up going at it and I tore her a new one so hard that she broke down and cried. Not because I said anything mean, but because I opened her eyes to her own selfishness and hypocrisy, then contrasted it with what the Bible preaches.

Now she's a much better person, and we're friends
