I think i'm starting to think aliens are my religion???

I feel like a moron for saying this...

I really have no religion. I'm also a very skeptical person. Anyone who's read my posts on alien threads know what i think about UFO's and ET's. Basically, i think that it'd be ignorant to say there is no other life out there. And also, with the size of the universe, there HAS to be intelligent life out there... and out of all that life, there has to be at least (probably alot) of species that are WAYY more advanced then us.

WIth that in mind, i've never really taken to the idea that aliens have visited earth. I want to beleive all the people that have "seen" them, but i can't until i see something with my own two eyes... i guess its just how i work... so while id like to think they have come here... my only conclusion is that they MAY have.

Now that i've learned most i can about all kinds of drugs, i've been spending my time learning a lot of new and different things online. Obviously i can't help but be skeptical, and this isn't what i fully beleive... but its so interesting that i guess i just WANT to beleive it...

I've been reading into all the 2012, galatic federation of light, niburu, planet X, etc etc.
I think the concept that aliens may come and enlighten us all and bring us to a higher vibration is soo cool. I guess its everything i want to beleive in... but i really have no premise or reason to belive in this... except that i REALLY want to lol.

I've always been interested in the pyramids... because ive always been into architecture and engineering. in fact, i was a civil engineering major... there is NOOOO way humans built those things without some kind of help!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they make the world trade towers et al 1975 look like a joke. Not to mention egyptions kept daily records of every event, and not once did they mention building the Great pyramid. the hyrioglyphics kind of just suggest it was alerady there. Besides, the methods in which we beleive the pyramids to have been built are just entirely impractical.

of course theres the mayans...
...and the fact that we are entering a new age... of aquarious
...not to mention the way the world has been the past 100 years... all the chaos and new technology... pretty ridiculous if you ask me.... the whole world is connected now, and just 150 years ago, just travelling across the atlantic was very difficult.

i dont know, a lot of it intermingles, but as much as i want to beleive it... i guess i still dont, for obviousn reasons. I really hope we get some aliens here in 2012 though, because if they do what some people think they are going to... then itd be friggen awesome! they already say some people are more evolved and are already on this higher vibration path.... and i feel like I, among MANY of the people here at the city are some of these people.

who knows, im sure it'll be just like Y2K... but until 2012, at least i can keep myself really excited and interested that this world ISNT ENTIRELY a piece of shit where nobody is happy because of the constraints our race has built up upon ourselves.

I also think a lot of musicians look like aliens... particularly this lennon poster i have in my room... and i find it odd that a lot of musicians kind of just... die/disappear... but then theres a lot of clues that hint towards a possible faked-death... just an idea

now let me finish this off by saying that i am a realist... and after saying that, after everything i just typed, makes me feel like a complete idiot. How could i ever even CONSIDER beleiving what i just wrote?? i guess its just something i really want to beleive... i never said i was gonna get fucked by jessica alba... but i sure as hell like to think about what itd be like!!! ya feel me?

your post made me think about the whole 2012 thing, aliens, maybe the whole antichrist thing too.. you know.. maybe its all the same one thing, people are just calling it different names.. im also... well, somewhat skeptical, but i mean we're human, no way we could know, so before anybody starts flaming you, i wanna say that there is no way for us to know.. maybe its true.. maybe it isnt, we just have to wait and see, i guess

yes thats true, our universe is soo big, and there more universe out there too..

thats pretty much my opinion of the posssibilty... its unlikely, but how would we know??!!! its a fun concept for sure that i guess i just wanna beleive

i think shrooms are from space haha... i mean.. there not, but the way they make me think, they must be, right? haha

as far as the pyramids... they say they dragged these stones (which weighed between 1-20 tons!!!!) over logs to roll them up the ramps...

if this were the case, the ramps would require an impractical amount of wood and stone (as much material as the pyramids itself!!!) and the wooden logs would be destroyed after just carrying one stone, because of they weight. The only trees in egypt are the date tree which provided much of its food, there was no way they were gonna chop all them down, it provided a neccessity... theres no other trees... not to mention there weren't enough people in the area to build it until they went outside of a 500 mile radius... which is a lot of distance before trains, planes and automobiles...

also, hieroglyphics show alien-like creatures, and egyptian documents talk of beams of light in the sky, and advance people coming to teach them new technologies...

mayans speak of similar occurances as well, and mayans are considered to be the smartest civilization of all time

Could this explain the diversity in the cannabis gene pool? There are cannabis flavors that mimic almost every fruit on the planet, and reminiscent of numerous herbs, and then there are flavors that are seemingly out of this world...

because there is no proof.
the only evidence is ambiguous.

however....
look in the sky... every one of those stars is a potential sun that can support life... the universe is huge... there is DEFFINITELY life out there... eveywhere... theres .00000000000000000001% chance that earth is the only life supporting planet

I cant say for certain that there is, because like you said, we don't know enough to make a deffinite call... but c'mon now... its the same as trying to argue we didn't land on the moon, since theres an argument for and against, and "proof" for both sides. Sometimes you just have to combine speculation, logic, and common sense.

The reality is, is that we don't understand the precise mechanics of abiogenesis, and until we do, we can't say that life is a likely even or not. It could turn out that conditions have to be so specific, that it will only occur once, in the entire span of the universe.

there's a lot of things we don't know or comprehend as humans. That being said, i think it's ignorant to say there isn't life out there. You're right, we don't know yet, and there isn't proof; but theres so many different experiences and sightings. Combine that with the fact that the universe is INFINITE, water has been found on another planet in our tiny spec of a solar system on mars, and that there are infinite other solar systems with one or more suns... and you have my point: though there is no proof, it is absolutely stubborn and ludicrous to think that we on earth are the only ones.

I, among billions of others, including the British Ministry of Defense (and even confidential/unreleased US reports) agree that we aren't alone, and you can't simply discredit the possibility just because we don't KNOW yet. Interesting read. Although I really doubt the 2012 thing...I do think it would be cool if aliens or whatever came and taught us more about the world/universe. I just can't take something like this seriously until more is learned/revealed about our universe. You are not alone in wanting more out of life, but you may be putting your dollars in the wrong jar. Either way though it's nice that you are excited about something! Enjoy it as you only have 4 years left before it becomes true or not.

Oh yeah there will be plenty of events for you to choose from after 2012. Huge world changing events seem to be becoming more and more popular topics and are growing rapidly in numbers. I suppose our society is getting bored with what it has.

Yes, and we have reason to believe that water will be found throughout the galaxy. Although water is an important component to the abiogenesis of our own biosphere, it is by no means the only requires component.

Don't get me wrong, I love astrobiology, and I support all kinds of space exploration. I just think we should be wary of the pitfalls of anthropic thinking.
