After looking at it, I now believe I know why:

1. God is a vindictive, jealous jerk who won't brok an insult to his ego.

The trinity works in mysterious ways

Now a little known fact: Many people think it is entirely rational and reasonable to base their life on the notion that (deep breath); A woman eating an apple makes humanity somehow inherently bad, and an invisible cruel father in the sky dabbled around for four fucking thousand years before getting less ticked off, and decided it was a about time to give humans a way out. A grand plan was hatched in which god himself would walk amongst the humans, and suffer some pain on behalf of the lowly humans. Nevermind he didn't bother to learn how to read or write in his 30 odd years on this third rock from the sun. I mean, he is all-knowing, but apparantly illiterate, or at least not very keen on writing stuff. This god is said to cause a bit of a riot, and then got hanged for it. Well, crossed or whatever. That lasted what? A couple of days. Pretty cheap sacrifice from a god that knows he'll soon be back ruling the universe for eternity with his full attention, and not just 2/3 of it. Suffering done with, he made himself into a zombie. The living dead are always a good feature in action movies of a certain kind, but in a philosophy to base ones life upon? A flying jewish zombie to boot. You had me on undead, flying makes it just that little bit less credible. (exhale)

Christianity;

The belief that some cosmic Jewish zombie can make you live forever if you symbolically eat his flesh and telepathically tell him that you accept him as your master, so he can remove an evil force from your soul that is present in humanity because a rib-woman was convinced by a talking snake to eat from a magical tree.

Maybe blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is unforgivable not because "God" doesn't want you talking bad about him, but that when you talk negatively about the Holy Spirit you are "denying" it to yourself, and forcefully "separating" it from yourself, and the sin in that is the loss of the happiness of the connection between yourself and the Holy Spirit.

i dont usually defend christianity, but i have to point out that all those things were symbols for what happened. of course the meanings have been forgotten/hidden. eve eating the apple is a symbol of recieving technology and knowledge from the anunaki. the snake image didnt use to be bad, as it was known that Satan, the modern representation of Enki (one of our creators), made us and gave us our knowledge. keep in mind the creation story in the bible was taken from the 7 tablets of creation in the sumerian civilization; where these anunaki stories come from.

Along the lines of what Kinetic Being wrote, blasphemy is a deliberate act of the will to display contempt and to curse away or drive off with disrespect. The scriptures describe the work of the Holy Spirit as drawing or calling people to salvation. So, to drive Him away is to reject God entirely. If a person asserts that position God will honor it. That's free will.

Actually blasphemy is a term coined by thin skinned believers when someone comes along and point out the obvious and often rather silly flaws in their religion. Silly flaws like original sin by means of a talking snake, with legs I might add, and a naked woman eating an apple. And, my favourite, the flood fairytale.

Ofcourse one also have the other kind of actual intentional teasing. Often by means of reductio ad absurdium. I like both, since I don't really care about how thin-skinned some believers may be or how serious they take their superstitions. Besides, it is fun

Like the empty Jesus story. Seriously, if there is an almighty god, why couldn't he just forgive us lowly humans for that apple-eating some 4 thousand years earlier? How hard could it be for a deity? But noooo, god loves pain apparantly. Which I guess is why he allegedly is also judge, jury and executioner. Spells sado-masochist in my book. Worship that? Believe in it? It is insulting to my dignity.
