The New "Ignorance"

I've always heard people say:

"Ignorance is bliss." I thought about that for awhile and just never understood.

Perhaps this is better...

"Vagueness is bliss."

What do you think?

how does that not make sense?

For example mammaliformes ("almost mammals") and then mammals existed throughout the reign of the dinosaurs, but could not compete for the large terrestrial vertebrate niches which dinosaurs monopolized. The end-Cretaceous mass extinction removed the non-avian dinosaurs and made it possible for mammals to expand into the large terrestrial vertebrate niches.

i dont get the vagueness part.
as for the ignorance . it is happiness but an utopic one. and i need a touch with reality.
knowledge is the key to avoid mistakes and in another level to self enlightment.

Vagueness helps me to reflect on things. When it's too clear, what is the point of the mind? Absorption?

When I read "vaugeness is bliss" I think I agree because by being unspecific there is no right or wrong way, there's no imitation your expected to copy, its just whatever and however you choose to percieve it. That sounds like bliss to me.

How can you be in blissful when you know one way is truth and one way is false, but you're just ignoring the validity of one side? At least for me, that shit really irks me and I wouldn't like it.

"ignorance is bliss" is a phrase that reflects one like "what mama dont know wont hurt her" which kinda means what you dont know the answer, result, or meaning to you shouldnt have to worry over it. living by that of course is ludicrous seeing as how that is essentially oblivion. not to say that the OP lives by "vagueness is bliss"

that said, and with the OP's position explained, i think the two phrases are quite different b/c either state (ignorance or vagueness) produce tow differnet outcomes.

no, for an illustration of the point that ignorance is bliss read shelley's frankenstein (the original version) the monster only becomes an actual monster as he starts to realize the truth about people (ie he becomes less ignorant about the world around him). when he is first created he has a love for everything, he has an appreciation for it all. when he realizes that not everyone is the same as him in that respect it turns his soul ugly.

ignorance is knowing exactly what you think and nothing else
vagueness is not letting people know what youre thinking about

Well i completely agree with the ignorance def. but as for the "vagueness" part....

By definition vagueness is "not clear or definite in thought, understanding, or expression". From this definition one could infer that this so called "vagueness" is both objective and subjective.

In it's subjective form, its only vague because of your mind, your emotions, your perception. The entity itself might not be vague at all, thats just how you perceive it. I suppose that could be viewed as as being ignorant, not seeing the idea as it is, or in a different way then meant to be, and if you believe thats bliss, well thats a totally different argument.

As for the objective version of vagueness.....
The entity itself is vague, the entity itself has no right or wrong meaning, and therefore you can perceive it however you believe. You won't ever truly be right no matter what your view, your bias, your perception may be, but that is only because there is no wrong answer to make it right.

And so I myself come to conclusion that though subjective vagueness is not bliss, the revised quote "Objective vagueness is bliss" seems to be completely true.

IF this argument seems to make no sense then please elaborate, rather than stating how stupid and blind I may be.
