Regret...

Do you believe in it? Why or why not? I want to hear everything you'd like to tell me about regret! Any tales of regret you'd like to share?

Personally, I do believe that all my experiences have changed and shaped me as a person. I have no reason to have any "regrets".

(Unless you count that tattoo I got during Spring Break my Freshman year of college... So maybe I'm on the fence a bit here... )

I thought the whole point of life was to live without regrets. Because honestly, if you live with regrets you're not truly living are you?

I don't believe anyone that says they have no regrets.

You're never going to know 100% what you want before you do it because ultimately its unknown to you until you take that step to commit to it.

i used to regret a lot of things, until i realized i was spending my time wallowing in the past and feeling guilty. it is a negative emotion. nothing positive can come from feeling regret about the past. recognizing and learning from a mistake is the healthy way to approach life.

Regret is a bag of bricks, what happened happened, it can not be changed. There's no point in carrying all of those bricks, let them go.

if you live a life of regret, you really aren't living life. it is human to make mistakes. to sulk and regret past mistakes just means you aren't getting better as a person. mistakes and error help a person grow. if one lives life without making mistakes and taking risks, they aren't living a life worth living.

Am I the only one who sees regret as a positive emotion? Sure don't wallow in the, uhh, mire, but you can't just disregard your regrets entirely because then you won't be acknowledging your roots.

(regret as in; To remember with a feeling of loss or sorrow; ..maybe I'm just too stoned..)

I don't know what you all are talking about "live a life without regrets." Regret is an integral part of our lives. You learn from your mistakes because of regret. For whatever reason you're sorry about something you did in the past, this motivates you do alter your actions when you come upon similar situations so you do not feel sorry later.

You shouldn't regret you're life and who it has made you into, but you should regret those week long drinking binges, and those shopliftings as a kid, and all those other boarderline immoral things you've done in your life.

Not at all! There are certain situations and instances that happened in my life that I can look back on and be disappointed in the way I handled them at the time..... But when I look back I think "Hey, I'm kind of glad that happened." I think it could be viewed as a positive emotion that way too!

(Just hit the bowl before perusing this thread again, so.........)

If you have no regrets, I'd be willing to bet it's because you aren't alive lol.
