I've tried this out and I have to admit it does work on some degree, but I don't think everything they say in the movie is creditable.

I don't know if I'd call it the best movie...one of my friends bought it last year and I watched it with her...I actually thought it was lame....

My problem with it is that it focuses too much on the positive, and that's not reality.....of course if you're an optimistic person than you will see the good in everything (or most things) and in turn you will feel better and the good things that happen to you will stand out...however we can't just go on ignoring the negative aspects of life...it's those things that make us appreciate the good....if you ignore the negative aspects of life, you're missing out....complete love is felt for all things....anyone who is completely happy can have love for the negative as well as the positive....and that's where I think the Secret goes wrong

it seemed to me like a scam...why would I pay to find out about being optimistic and listen to an idea that resembles Karma?....just seems like if you're gunna take the time to watch the movie, you might as well just not watch it and use that time to meditate or get closer to yourself (which will have the same results in the end)

either way...the moral of the story was summed up perfectly by Liquidtruth

The secret is not going to work with that type of attitude.

I recently watched it on somebodies recommendation from here actually, it was pretty good, trying to live my life by it, so I can't tell yet if its working or not, if its true or not, or just a cleaver scheme to make a buck.
But, with that type of attitude, would it ever work?

I dl'd it off of BitLord a while ago because it was recommended to me by an old friend who is in to that kind of thing.

I enjoyed it, but it seemed an awful lot like some kind of self-help type thing.

That being said, I am usually a "glass-is-half-full" type person.

I would recommend watching it at least once at least to get ideas.

p.s. according to wikipedia this documentary didn't do so well when it debuted in Australia, but doesn't mean its worthless. Have an open mind and don't forget to spark one before watching!!!

dude i love the movie i absoultly love it. if you enjoy that i suggest buying some books on kabbalah or going to http://www.kabbalah.com/. its a religon that many would say Buddhism evolved from but this religon is based on the torah and is the same concept of the secret, and in fact i am convinved the secret is based on this religon. its pretty sick. check it out

I found "the Secret" to be very materialistic in nature, and I think that that ruins the Information that they are trying to convey. The message of "The Secret" goes alot deeper than they care to even hint at in the film.

Also, could it be that the thoughts are not what brings the event, but the event that brings the thoughts?

Or just another fine example of confirmation bias...

that brand of wishfull thinking where one conveniently forget about all the times something contradicts what one believes, and only count the positive hits.

If you believe this newage magic superstition, keep a log. Everytime you wish for something, write it down. Every month or so after, count up hits and misses, and be honest with yourself. No creative apologetics.

And when doing that, you can ponder over why starving africans can't quite cunjour up a decent meal. Eventhough I believe going to bed stuffed is number one on their wishlist.

It played too much like an infomercial for me. I liked What the Bleep do We Know? much more as it encompassed what The Secret had to offer in a more inspiring and less money hungry way.
