I'd say this thread has been debunked... Open minds and hearts, people.

i dont think christianity will be debunked for quite a while, it takes more than a poorly written essay to destroy faith in an imaginary being.

Amen. I don't understand the desire to be right all the time.
I think, if people are happy in their belief, let them be... If they're bugging you, I guess you can debate with them, but if your beliefs are any indicator of the chances of you changing, then the same should be said for them no? I say its pointless to try and prove you're right.. just learn to live together...

its easy to just cast this off and say "lets all just get along",

but there's never going to be harmony and spiritual evolution unless drastic change is undertaken.

Some may think others beliefs are unjust, but in the end it comes down to the basic laws "love thy neighbor" and "do unto others", which (unless I'm completely mistaken) is taught in almost all cultures.
Granted, there are some teachings in some religions that cause a bit of a ruckus, like circumcision, but we all know that the second you challenge someone's beliefs, they hold on tighter than ever. They want to be right, and so do you, so noone is going to change their mind.

I don't think its as hard as people make it seem... I think its just the desire to be right that hinders us from coming together.
I may not agree with circumcision, but does that mean I have to get angry and all up in arms every time someone has their baby circumcised? Nah, I can speak out against it, but in the end its a matter of choice and I can't really interfere with choice, besides, what good is it to be upset at people all the time?

And the morality of 'this' and 'that' can be debated till the cows come home, but will it really get us anywhere in the long run? I mean, we always seem to have new things to fight against, terrorism, censorship, sexism, racism, all the isms you could think of and more. Soon there will be nerdism, foodism, hippyism or whatever ism you want to make, simply because all the other isms are taken care of right?
Okay I realize that sounds wrong, terrorism is bad, hurting people is bad and fighting against racism and sexism and such are a good thing. I think what I'm trying to say (in this aspect right here) is that people are going to look for any reason to hurt eachother which needs to stop... also... crap.. lost my train of thought... AH.
Okay, so what I meant by it was... um... OH yeah, Okay I think I can summerize this in one sentance. "Pick your battles." There is no point in fighting over whether someone believes in hell or not, just as long as they're not harming otheres right? I don't think that the christian man down the street is bad, I don't think his belief that gays are bad is good, but he isn't harming any gays or causing trouble, so why not leave it be?

I think its related to the whole seperation thing that people talk about more and more.
I think the spiritual evolution and harmony will come after we learn the basics of Respect and Tolerance.

Okay I'm just babbeling now and probably digging a hole for myself.
You make a point though.

People can say what they want about the piece that I directed everyone to. They can say that it's insignificant. They can say that it's irrelevant. They can say that it's poorly written or doesn't break any new ground. But apparently what no one can say - or has been able to yet anyway - is anything that has even come close to shake my belief that the piece in question is the absolute knockout blow to Christianity. THE ABSOLUTE KNOCKOUT BLOW!!

Most of the people who have made derogatory remarks about the piece or the messenger are clearly just disgruntled Christians who can't comment with anything but an biased opinion in the first place.

Good! I guess that means you're outta here. Why don't you take the rest of the biased minds with you. We're trying to hold a mature and unbiased debate here and all you bias-minded Christians keep doing is just keep popping in and sullying up the place.

Disrespect doesn't float here so consider this your warning. *RMJL

I totally forgot you even posted that. I'll take a look though, and I assure you I'm not Christian (though I doubt that anything could give Christianity... or any religion, the "knock out blow... see above posts about "being right")
