Medicine...creationists wouldn't compare an ostrich with a dinosaur because they deny dinosaurs existed. At least I think they have to.... the bible says nothing about dinosaurs and according to creationists, fossils are bullshit.
It makes me mad just thinking about it.
Anyway, theres is no doubt in my mind that dinos evolved into birds. It didn't go straight from raptor to emu, though. Most dinosaurs were killed off by the KT impact millions of years ago. But some small mammals and reptiles survived to evolved again.
There are plenty of characteristics seen in birds that were also seen in dinos. Such as feet with 3 toes pointing forward and one back. Many dinosaurs were found with proto-feathers... such as the sinosauropteryx..... I
m guessing a relative of archaeopteryx. A creature called unenlagia folded its arms 'backwards' like birds do. The oviraptor was found covering its nest of eggs the same way emus do now. In addition, several others were found with hollowed bones.... a trait found in birds to lighten their bodies for flight.
Most of my info was found at

The velociraptors were pretty much birds already. They had feet like birds, legs the bend back at the knee like birds, they had unbelievable eyesight, and they were extremely intelligent.
Besides archaeopteryx and other flying dinobirds, several of them were flightless. These flightless birds were probably the link between dinos with feathers, and flying creatures such as achaeopteryx.
This article very interesting and informative.
