Bribery...
Don't get any illusions, we can all be bought. It is just a matter of cost-benefit.
So at what profit will you abandon principles for a personal benefit?
Me?
Live a financially carefree life with a lot to spare. Not due to greed or anything, just be secure. But if in such a position, how much would I contribute (except taxes) towards those less fortunate?
I do not know. Something tells me I'd be rather self-centered. Need a room full of kick-ass hi-tech AV gear, and a car that can burn asphalt for breakfast.
But then what? Give money away for free?
Sounds wrong kinda'. My money FFS!
But, is it really? More importantly, why? I could say I worked for it, and it would be true. I'm no rich mans son, believe you me. I'm not rich either, so it's kinda' mute point.
But it's not like my work is hard. Or all that unpleasant *cough* I'm almost ashamed to be payed at all, since I have so much fun. But I do take the going rate, and then some, since I'm good. Merit is credit.
But there are people out there, many, most, that do hard physical work twelve or more hours a day, for what I would consider pennies. Or punishment, whatever.
Unfair? Yes. Do I care? Only marginally. Sorry. But enough to be aware of the problem. But not enough to actually do something.
We're all self-centered, like it or not. I got my bills to pay. Rent, taxes and (running my own company) a shitload of VAT and insurances.
And I think of myself as a good guy. Use little CO2 (though I got a car), never hurt anyone, even when drunk. Put garbage in bins when walking and eating. Never damaged any property or person. Basically, a good guy, doing good shit. And smoking weed which is not defined as good shit, but I do not follow that definition
No point really, just ranting...
