Extremly trippy...radio sounds of Saturn...

The Cassini Spacecraft recorded radio emmisions from the planet Saturn. By themsef, they sound eerie and quite trippy. But I guess in '56 thee was a movie made that had electronic sound effects that sound very similar.

Radio recordings of the cosmos are nothing new....... radio emmisions fro the big bang can still be heard. IN fact, part of the static seen on television and heard on the radio is from the big bang.

Check out the site.........

Yea man, that shit is reeeal trippy...almost eerie.

I kept waiting for some loud screaming sound to scare the fuck out of me, as ive found that I cant trust videos or sound bytes over the internet anymore. You think youre watching or listening to something peaceful, then BAM! I'm never ready for it...

It just goes to show you that the music of the cosmos, flows through all of us, whether we are aware of it or not.

Now if they'd launched into a chorus of "Happy, Happy, Joy Joy"...I would've flipped!

You don't have to state that your an athiest. Being an athiest can still merit you an imagination.

That's pretty damn cool. However, it was 27 minutes compressed to 73 seconds; so it's not like those sounds are constantly playing like some eerie music.

Think that's creepy, have a look at the storms that hover around saturns north and south poles:

South

North

Interesting facts about Saturn:

-Saturn is the namesake of Saturday (dies Saturni)

- The Roman God Saturn seized power, by castrating and overthrowing his father Uranus. However, it was foretold that one day a mighty son of Saturn would in turn overthrow him, and Saturn devoured all of his children when they were born to prevent this.

-Saturn had three sons and one daughter Jupiter, Pluto, Neptune, and Juno

-In memory of the Golden Age of man, a mythical age when Saturn was said to have ruled, a great feast called Saturnalia was held during the winter months around the time of the winter solstice. It was originally only one day long, taking place on December 17, but later lasted one week. During Saturnalia, roles of master and slave were reversed, moral restrictions lessened, and the rules of etiquette ignored.

-During Saturnalia the celebrations included a school holiday, the making and giving of small presents (saturnalia et sigillaricia) and a special market (sigillaria).

-The customary greeting for the occasion is a "io, Saturnalia!" — io (pronounced "yo") being a Latin interjection related to "ho" (as in "Ho, praise to Saturn"). (Ever wondered why Santa says ho ho ho?)

When I first saw the hexagonal storm on one of Saturn's poles it immediately vaulted into my top 3 coolest things I've ever seen involving the universe.

The other two being the Cat's Eye nebula and a picture of a large galaxy 'consuming' another smaller neighbor as they danced around each other in a gravitational bond. One arm stretched over 50 lightyears from the small one to the big one...... a cosmic causeway.

To me, the fact that the clip is 27 mins compressed only makes cooler...... it might be sketchier.

Shit, the folks on saturn definitely have a cool ambient music radio station. I'm looking forward to hear what their rock station sounds like.
