I will assume greater power than God and overthrow his throne and rule the Universe with an iron fist, which in actuality, would be a fist much kinder than God's. I would also make Movies free, and eliminate commercials... Vote for me as your next God, I surely will not disappoint!

Why would you strive to be greater than God? In God you have the power to heal the sick and release the broken hearted, what would you hope to accomplish by delivering materialism instead of love?

Actually your ambitions, and your campaign promises go hand in hand... I just can't imagine the evil that would flourish under your ignorance.

No, you do not have the power to heal the sick. If people did, believe me, it would be all over the news, not only to be found in some televangelists TV hour. Chris Angel has as much validity as those people. No idea what you mean by "release the broken hearted". As to why I would strive to be greater than god? Really, I do not have to strive at all, I am greater, mainly because I exist, and he does not.

A lot of evil would flourish, I would make sure of it! In fact, it would be the number one requirement to get free movies. Commit evil acts, never pay for a movie again! I think that might become my first commandment.

LOL! Name ONE prophecy from the Bible that has actually come true. All those pertaining to Christ cannot be verified - as Christ can't even be shown to have historically existed.

And by the way... Get your #'s right... Approx. 33% of the Bible is prophetic in nature, not 25...

And there are MANY that haven't come true as of yet... The one world church, one world government... The attack on Israel (as described in Daniel) by Russia and the surrounding mid-east countries.... Just to name a few

I sought diligently... For about a decade, man... It's not there. If the Bible really was written by God ("All Scripture is given by God..."), then there wouldn't be so many blatant doctrinal contradictions. The Bible was penned by MAN to control the masses... It wasn't given by God at all.

EDIT: I should have you know - before this goes any further, that I was once a Bible college student training for the ministry. I know my Bible, and I know what I'm talking about... Just keep that in mind before you go and parrot all the Apologetics that are so frequently spewed out by preachers.

Okay I might very well get flamed for this, and I'm the first to say that my knowledge of religion/christianity/the bible isn't as much as others but perhaps less emphasis should be placed on the church and the bible as they are mens constructions, and asuch can be violated and corrupted and more on the following, on the mimicking, of Christ - as a good person,

In the incarnation, Christ's divine, non-differentiated impartial love acts as the exemplar for human, partial love.

Are there any jewish people here? I read a book called Everyman's Talmud, it goes over the stuff in the Talmud with extracts and suchlike. Anyway theres this one page and its a story that sums up - to me - the entireity of what religion should be.

Simply put (I can't remember exactly how it goes) the story is:

Theres a man who wanted to be taught the faith, but of the teachers he requires them to stand on one foot while he's being taught. The Rabbi cannot do it, until one appears, who, standing on one foot says: 'What is hateful to yourself, do not to your fellow man'

What more to it is there than that?

there's no need to get huffy cotton. we are all free to believe what we believe to be the truth. if you're searching for the Lord, look into your heart. college isn't necessary if you're searching for the truth. why is it that people feel they have to see something in order to believe it exists? you gotta have faith.
