End of music

Will we ever reach a point in our musical evolution where we have totally exhausted all possible likable musical beats?

No music will continue to evolve as the human psyche evolves.

It also will never end cause people will continue to bite somebody even if there not aware there doing it.

Thats how we evolve I guess.Somebody does something and we copy it and put our unique style and flavor on it,sounds like plagarism to me....

i do fear that someday, not in the near future, innovative and creative music will end.

unfortunatly, a lot of songs are written for other people to sing....they are composed without the human element on a computer and mix board thingy....they are mindless with no message and only talk about materialistic bullshit. and if their not talkin about materialistic bullshit they're whining about their girlfriend/parents and any other played out teenage angst horseshit.....if there even are legit band members they have no clue how to play their instruments.

don't get me wrong...there are definatly decent bands out there. but 98% of the new artists are fucking lame and do not deserve to be allowed to make music.

to me, theres no reliable reason to think that music will be saved

No.

And if there is, it's only our own fault for limiting our tastes to certain tonal systems.

There are many interesting intervals within the audible range that no one has even touched upon yet.

And as music such as traditional blues has taught us, there's an almost infinate amount of ways to warp the same old progressions, such as the classic E,A,D

Though... I do wonder how long we'll be able to keep coaxing licks out of the pentatonic scale...

Oh chief, how did you get so dour? Of course music will evolve, it is merely an expression of our thoughts in sonic poetry, any appearance of lameness in today's bands is brought on by shitty record companies, and the public's tolerance for schmaltz. What sells is always more lame than the cool underground stuff, which will be the next phase.

Mick Jagger once said, " It's getting really hard to make original music anymore, everyone's seen everything, heard everything, done everything! Except for the kids! They haven't seen or done anything yet!" That was during the 1976 olympics. 31 years later, they are still trying, and that's just a small group of brits, think of it on the world scale!

And Cole Porter wrote every beautiful song in his repetoire for "someone else to sing".

No way. It will just evolve. We'll continue our studies of the human brain and figure out a way to create visonary music. Psychedelic music. We'll discover more about sound and conciousness and artists will be able to manipulate it so that when we hear certain sounds we have certain thoughts. I wish I lived 10,000 years into the future!!!

Music like mathematics is endless. Music is an application of pure math anyway. Music will never stop evolving but it will likely evolve into form you as an individual may not appreciate. It's called "getting older."

Listen to Serj Tankian's new album Elect The Dead, it's so different.

We will always find ways to make fresh creative new music styles and songs.

This will never happen, we've only just begun to explore the world of organized sound.

Good question but music will never end. Think about music 5000 years ago. Think about music 5000 years from now. Maybe what music will be 5000 years from now, we may hardly even consider it music, but it will evolve, just like the human mind.

We'll turn stars in to subwoofers, and fuck anyone who says sound can't travel in space... the StarWoofers will be in nebula's!

The gas will conduct the sound.

So there.

Music in space.

Music will never end, it'll only keep evolving and merging with other media. We havent even started listening to all of the electromagnetic spectrum. When we start messing with our brains kinda like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KhCBZcq58c0
Music hasn't even started yet, this is prehistoric music we're listening to right now.

Medicine, I think I've become so bitter because I myslef, am a musician. I see, feel, live, understand how difficult it is to truely make MUSIC. Not computerized garbage.

I'm not saying any music made using computers is poor...it just irks me that there are bands out there that just one day up and decide to be musicians and they get everything paved out for them.

Music has always evolved. It will continue to evolve.... however the human ear is evolving slower and can't keep up with the pace of evolutional music.

It seems these days that anything innovative gets pushed aside and drowned in the underground where people like me will try and revive it. Over time, enough people revive it until it gets pushed back up to the surface.....where it will die a slow death.

Music is a delicate thing
