Huxley's reducing valve theory
Huxley theorized that our brain has a reducing valve. I was wondering if this has ever been anatomically proven (blood-brain barrier?)? He proposed that when we take hallucinogens, (I read this in his writings on mescaline) the reducing valve is opened allowing a wealth of non-essential information to flow into our brain.
Also, does anyone know if brain activity levels rise during hallucinations?
