Outside Body Experiences (O.B.E)

Yeah, I never had one but my brother told me he did once. He said that when he was 5 years old he locked himself in his room and laid down on a bed close to dim light in a dark toom. According to him he concentrated so hard for about 5 minutes until what he soon called afterwards his outside body experience, where he used his mind and mood balance to move around his room. He told me then after a few moments after letting himself out his body supposenly ''sucked'' his soul back into his body.

Weird story if you ask me. I'm trying it when i'm really high though for sure. Any similar stories or comments?

I did not know that you could actually make yoourself have an obe. Very interesting. I personally have never had one, but ive talked to someone who did.

I had a couple when I was about 8. I was play wrestiling with a friend and losing as usual. He had me completely pinned and I was struggling to get free and suddnly I was looking at the side of my own head from about 6 inches away, and slightly above myself. It only lasted about ten seconds and happened twice in succession that same afternoon, then again about two weeks later in slightly different circumstances.

There are a lot of accounts of people who've had an accident and found themselves not only mentally disassociated from their bodies, but also physically distanced too. I remember reading a story about a guy who had fallen a few hundred feet down the side of a mountain who had one. He said at one point he could see his leg hit a ledge and break, but he couldn't feel it, and he saw it all from outside his falling body.

Obviously it seems to come on in times of stress (though not always), so we could suppose that the brain was making sure that we don't feel the full horrors of great physical pain by allowing us to create a mental reality where we aren't within our own bodies. But I think that's one step to far. I can see the brain turning the pain off for us in lots of different ways, but for it to turn the pain off and create an illusion of a new viewpoint on yourself is a bit odd.

I really don't believe people can have them on cue though, or trigger one in themselves, I have to be honest.

I'm not sure if I was out of my body, but I've had experiences were reality ceased to exist and there was only light connected by strings. Another time I saw myself peering off into the distance trying to see something.

I've had visions on nitrous (while tripping + sometimes rolling too) that range from terrifying and real to dream-like. Don't know if I'm leaving my body, expanding my mind, or limiting the creative potential of the mind or if it's all the same thing.

My brother had one that involved him seeing the Earth from space and then he shot all the way back down into the house so fast he freaked out. I thought he had died because he stopped breathing and turned blue. I don't do as much nitrous as him at once but that was pretty crazy.

idk if they're out of body experiences, but sometimes when i completely relax my body and close my eyes i see the room around me and can look down at stuff like i could as if i'm standing up.
