That is just a false dichotomy. Many other options exist. Between nuclear holocaust and Borg-like hive-mind society, there is a plethora of just as plausible outcomes.

That is not to say we shouldn't worry about such horrible weapons. As threats go, they rank pretty much in first place of possible disasters we need to prevent by all means.

As for utopian ideas, I'm not seeing it happen. Such ideals, whilst often well meaning, do not survive the pragmatics of human nature.

I guess it depends on perspective...there are a lot of isolated communities in the world that one could argue are utopian...but like a global utopia? I think a dystopia is much more realistic, unfortunately.

Where does science play any part in the truth or refutation of your belief in a new world order and the anti-christ? Science plays a very important role in the new world order. Science is about alot of numbers. Once we discover the missing numbers doors are opened, and things that were unatainable become a reality.

About Utopia: First of all, Thomas More (Sir, Saint, Legend?), who coined the phrase Utopia, tells us that it is a place that does not exist. It is entirely made up, pretty much impossible. More based his Utopia off of Plato's Republic. Could there ever be a Utopia? Well, to quote from a rather popular movie:

"God needs the Devil. The Beatles needed The Rolling Stones. Even Diane Sawyer needed Katie Couric. Will you be my Katie Couric?"

The balance of life, good and evil, yin and yang... If you believe in Utopia, perhaps it is waiting for you in heaven. But you will never find it in our realm of existence.
