Great vid rasta. Liked the guy alot and though I"m still gonna stay Christian One reason you must realize why people are religious and especially Christianity is hope for death because were so damn scared of it. I think those type of Christians are wrong personally and feel bad for them. Not for me though I'm Christian because I feel Jesus was real and was superpowerly (magic and stuff) also out of all the religions in the world Christianity is the only religion that has nothing against women. I also want to see my grandparents and stuff like that ( bash my belief all you want) Who knows what the fuck is going on. DAMN Ima go get some salvia tommorow because thinking about this stuff trips me out. Like you ever feel like your the only person living actually and everyone around you isn't alive and its all in your head. Or you wake up in the morning and feel like you just woke up to life like you were just born.

You should do some research on your religion.

Some problematic passages

A variety of biblical passages are used as authority to prohibit women from having leadership roles, primarily in marriage and the church.
  • Acts 1:21. Criteria for apostleship include being male.
  • 1Corinthians 11:3-16. Women are commanded to cover their heads in worship to show they recognize their husband's authority coming from the fact that man was created first.
  • 1Corinthians 14:34-35. Women are told to be silent in church.
  • Ephesians 5:22 Women are told to submit to their husbands.
  • 1Timothy 2:11-12. Women are told to be quiet in church because man was created first, and woman was deceived and sinned first.
Not to mention the Inquisition which resulted in the murder of thousands of women (and men) who lived lives not of catholic convention.

I know there are things against them but its just natural they have a curiosity. Personally I feel that God let it happen and it was a plan. But who knows. Guess thats why there was Jesus to come and save us. But today there is nothing against women in the Christian religion unlike other religions such as in Islam they don't even get to choose who they marry. Most catholics follow stuff like that. Generality of christians today don't follow any of that and wouldn't if they found out. Christianity is probably one of the biggest religions where people don't follow certain things in there religion. Only thing that MATTERS in Christianity is belief in Jesus. Thats its whole foundation. Wikipedia Christianity all you get is followers of Jesus basically. All the extremist are just paranoid from getting thrown into hell or brainwashed since childhood or whatever else reasons. Bible has had many excluded books and has been rewritten so anything you really read could be false or true. A whole 50/50 choice to follow this or this. Thats why people say you just have to believe. Also Jesus who was supposivley God on earth and realized how easy it was to sin and it is easy and so he died for sins and reincarnated and fought off death and gave salvation for our sins. Thats by belief of some Christian scholars my neighbor is a religious scholar and he's told me some of this. Also you can be forgiven of anything. Personally to me the best books in the bible are Exodus, Revelations, Matthew, Psalms, Job, Acts, Corinthians, Matthew, Luke, John, and Genesis or books that are extremely reasonable. Genesis might not sound like it but has some good things we believe. Also rasta I'm just wondering are you atheist or agnostic?

Yeah that is iroinc. Thats cool man. I feel people should be christian but at the same time so many people think its complete bullshit and its hard to get someone to convert unless they're 4 lol. I use to be a reincarnationist though and still had some Christian belief at the time. Pretty stupid but I really did think we reincarnate into another person after we die. Because think of it this way you never chose to be in the body your in. You know what i"ll stop right there because it traces back to my belief that we were alive somewhere else before we came here so peace gonna smoke some of the salvia I got today and ponder some a couple things.

drinking beers and smoking bowls.. tonite's gonna be sweet

on topic, i havent seen the video yet, but Dawkins is amazing. as an atheist/agnostic, you can begin to form some concepts as to why religions are wrong, but then someone like Dawkins comes and prefectly says everything you had in your mind but you couldnt quite put into words... even if you as an atheist begin to have doubts(sometimes you get unsure), you hear the guy and theyre all erased and you have this renewed confidence and wonder why you ever doubted. i hope to be like that someday. i'm not very good at discussing religion with religious people, it tends to get nowhere fast, but i need to be able to articulate all the concepts and stay on top of the issues if i ever hope to actually make any progress there.

later guys.. off to have a good time

Sam Harris is a fag. He goes on about rationality being important and rips into religious people over it. in the next damn breath he's making bullshit comments about EsP, reincarnation and comments about the scientific community ignoring large bodies of evidence.

THEN HE BACKPEDDALS and refuses to admit he even said that shit when its right there in End of Faith, published. Fuck him and his hypocricy.
