In the news today, man formerly claiming he was the son of God, recently honing affiliation with the Anti Christ, took his own life this morning when store owners noticed him having a conversation with himself. When asked who he was speaking to, the man revealed a switch blade from his coat pocket. He was last seen screaming biblical verses and slashing his wrists with every sentence. He was said to have died halfway through Leviticus. Authorites are unsure of where he started.

Nope. He's done nothing to show, beyond a reasonable doubt, that he is mentally unstable or incompetent.

sadly our mental health care is not what you might think in this country. there is not much spare room in state hospitals so unless they determine during interview that you are a physical danger to yourself or someone else, they can't force you to stay. many with in the system figure this out, these people aren't stupid they're just on a vacation from reality, when the ill learn how to talk to mental health care givers, and tell them what they want to hear, they have to release them.

Yeah, I know. Around here too, the mental healthcare is seriously underfunded. However through the media, there have been year long campaigns to rectify the situation, and slowly I get the impression things get somewhat better.

But it still doesn't hinder the occasional tragedy. Like this one. Shit happens, but it is just so unnecessary when you know this particular one could be hindered if only the means to do so was available. Or more correctly, prioritized.

(A childhood friend of mine, have had to struggle with mental disorder first developed whilst taking a higher degree in physics. With good support from family and friends, and after a great deal of nagging, he was processed quickly through our mental healthcare system (free btw), and is still not cured by any means. But at least recovering to a significant degree. Even got his diploma )

I too was afflicted with a serious disorder at the age of 17. I went on to enroll in college and dropped out after a year and a half, due to unrelated issues, with a 3.85 GPA.

you see some really disturbed people on the inside, myself included, at that point in my life, and then occasionally you see them again on the outside, and they really don't look a lot better off. scary

I've done some research and what I believe works the best is for the afflicted to trully feel cared about. drugs are not the answer, legal medications or other wise. they just cause the person not to be able to be a threat. some drugs can possibly aid in recovery, but I believe most people expect too much from the drugs. I'm glad your friend is doing well. It can be far behind him one day. gl

But seriously, anyone that claims they are the Anti-Christ obviously is not. The Anti-Christ would have no need to make those claims; he would just show himself to be the Anti-Christ. The only person who I would consider, up to this point in history, to be the Anti-Christ, would be Hilter. He was stopped, but he is the closest thing that we have seen up to now.
